Go for POLK 10" sub and Onkyo receiver. I have this combination and It's sounds very nice for Movies and good for Music.

Denon is the best choice for AVR. Depending on your budget, 1311, 1611 and 1911 are good AVRs. For subwoofer, Earthquake and Definitive Technology are the best.
