Hi,
I own a denon x1000 with a pioneer AJ 5.0 set now in the search for a good subwoofer my extended max budget is 30k cant go beyond that can anyone suggest some good subwoofers to go with my AJ's and denon x1000 my room size is 12*14 so looking for a 10" atleast 100 watts rms need a feq response of atleast 30hz-180hz
I did find the BA Asw 250 which is a 10 inch sub with 100 watts for 20k is that a gud buy or should i go for the BA asw 650 for 27k. I have hard the velodyne impact 12 really liked but is beyond my budget
So guys fill in with your suggestion
Regards
Sujith

I suggest to go for Boston Acoustics ASW650. A very VFM product.
Else you can also hunt for the used one... well suit your budget.

Thanks Kittu
even i did check the BIC f12 have heard its a very capable sub but since its from avenue sounds guess it should be a 120v version so i would have to get some work done on it to convert it to 230v version and i dont want to use a sub with a stepdown transformer
btw do you own a BIC f12 have you hear it?

Have a look at Cambridge Audio Minx X200 & X300 approx 21k & 31k respectively..

check out on htstore.in
either impact 12 or impact 10 should be good enough. I dont know if these subs are VFM as i have never heard them but many have suggested this one so i put my suggestion forward

I'm very happy with the Velodyne Impact 10...easily plays down to 35Hz at least...very musical and can handle movies decently well. You might find it around 25k, felt better compared to the asw250 but I'd heard both separately in different rooms. this felt definitely better for music, blends with speakers as if it wasnt switched on. Look around for used subs too, more expensive subs do better than budget ones. Congrats on your Pioneer buy!

Thanks Kittu

Avenue sound will give it to you with 230 volts conversion and one year warranty.

Hi Sujithblaze

I own the ASW650 and it is indeed VFM. It is great for music / movies / gaming....outputs frequencies between 28hz - 150hz. Use it in an area of 200 sq ft. It is pleasant and not at all boomy and too bassy.

The key of any subwoofer is to blend in with your existing speakers and make things more warm and pleasant to hearing.....ofcourse you can adjust the bass levels to make the place a discotheque or make it less incase you have too many heart patients or senior citizens in the room.

Placement plays an important role and any sub you bring...atleast you would spend a few days trying out different angles / positions and levels....all the best...hope this helps...

Try elac sub esp 50. There are huge stock clearance offers. I just got one for 19.5k :) 10.8" down firing sub with a 100 watts normal power output.

Where is this clearance going on please?

@Sujitblaze - I am also in the market for the sub in with more or less same requirements. I did audition Polk Audio PSQ110 - I liked it for the music. Movies I am yet to audition it in details. this was quoted at 18.5K. They had PSW125 as well (12 inch driver) for 24k.

I heard Focal cub 3 sub (quoted at 30k) which I liked very much for music as well as movies. You may try checking those as well.

Cheers

Elac sub esp 50 is way better than these basic polks. I auditioned polks and the psw 110 and 125 disappointed me. The sound was not "rich" as compared to elac.just go for elac instead of polk. I don't know about other brands. But as far as I know for subs below 20k elac sub 50 esp it the best.
