supply side short circuit protection device

Hi everyone,

I would like to know if anyone has any idea how can one protect his electronics items from a outside/ supply side short circuit as the voltage in the neutral can damage the electronic items if there is short circuit between phase and neutral outside your home as i found that the mov between the neutral and earth had burst when the 11 kv feeder had tripped as there was some fault.

Use a Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor(TVSS )rated to your eqpt.

where can i get it and what will be its rating for a full house having 5 circuits of 5 amps and 2 of 15 amps. i basically want the supply and the neutral to be isolated when the voltage hit at the main board itself within nano sec.

Is it possible. I was thinking to use a RCCB and then connect an MOV of 60 volt or less ac rated between the neutral from the load side and the earth so that if there is high voltage then the MOV it can burst and ground thus the RCCB will trip.

Will it work?
