As far as I know, Amazon India imports TCL TVs in India. TCL is a Chinese brand, it's an OEM supplier to many reputed brands. What I fail to understand that why Amazon imports TCL TVs from U.S.
I assume, products that are outdated, can't be pushed to the US customers even during some *** Friday Sale. So, here India comes to the rescue! If you read customers' reviews on Amazon India's website, you will get a rough idea. You can also watch reviews on YouTube, but I would suggest you to take those reviews with a pinch/sack of salt as most of them are paid reviews. If you want to buy budget LED/4K/curved TV, look elsewhere.

Using a TCL48 inch curved since august, cant be happier for the price and EXCEPTIONAL performance. Also have a 49 inch non smart from TCL as well but this curved is really awesome.

I have no idea why above person thinks that amazon is importing from usa, its manufactured and imported from tcl china, as per the address written on boxes, My august order was showing a july'16 manufactured date and november'16 ordered nov'16 as manufacturing date, so they sure seem to be a chinese import and not outdated models from usa.

@net, Delve deep and you will come to know. Refresh rate is 60Hz, and you still think these are not outdated models!!!. This is just a pointer, there are many actually. But if you are happy, you stay happy. No matter who says what, your satisfaction is paramount. Mantra is, you can listen to n number of people but follow your heart only.

Check TCL USA website and you will know how outdated our models in India are. US Models include Roku interface and have Dolby Vision also in many cases. I think I didnt even see India models listed there.

I have heard good things about their curved TV, after sales service might be a little slow. The curved model sold here is not some old outdated model, its a current one with panels sourced from Samsung.

You cannot call a TV outdated if it has a refresh rate of 60Hz, 60Hz is perfectly fine for a TV. All major brands currently have TVs with 60hz refresh rate in the market. TCL USA also has 60Hz TV sets on sale currently.

Check TCL USA website and you will know how outdated our models in India are. US Models include Roku interface and have Dolby Vision also in many cases. I think I didnt even see India models listed there.

Roku is popular in the US and there is demand for Roku there, so they include Roku in some of their models. In India there is hardly any demand for Roku and Roku has not entered the Indian market.

TLC India is now focusing on the entry level and budget market, so features like Dolby Vision might come if they decide to launch products in higher categories.

I think TCL has not yet launched any curved screen in the US market but they have launched it here. So we cannot say that they are launching old outdated models.

First and foremost you cannot compare the electronics market between India and USA. They are vastly different from one and another. Every company has their own plan for each region and depending on the nature of the market they introduce new products.
What's the point of introducing Roku when the nation's average speed is 3.5mbps.

Still, 4K TVs are in thing. People buy big screen TVs not only for regular viewing. People watch movies, play games and for many more. One can find 4K videos on Youtube.
Autobahn is still a distant dream in India but that doesn't deter people buying MERCEDES, BMWs, AUDIs
AFAIK, Tata Sky HD telecast is not even 1080p; it is actually 1080i.

Thats my point actually what you described, The TCL products are giving immense VFM but sure it can not give more then this in 35k and expecting features like 120hz/4k of 4 times more priced tv cant seem viable. Plus it may take 5 years to have some 4k channels and by that time we will be getting a whole new generation of panels.

i picked up a tcl 50" during october sales for quite cheap. After reading the horror stories here and elsewhere about the major brands panels, lack of support, lack of replacement parts etc, I was in no mood to spend a lot of cash for something that is most probably going to conk off within a few years, so i got a tcl. the smart version was some 5k more, so i got an android box for 2.5k. Picture quality is quite decent, no complaints so far. lets keep the fingers crossed.:)

Planning to pick up the Tcl curved 48" model... Looking for reviews and I am only n only talking about purely on terms of Pcture quality and not the smart features. Since it's advertised as having a Samsung panel, I am thinking it would be a better buy then other Chinese manufactured tvs...what say. Its an internation brand n doing pretty well in the US too so I am thinking it would be a better buy compared to India only brands like Vu, Sanyo etc. Does it provide extended warranty like vu?
Though I have been hearing horror stories about its after sales n service but I am hoping being in Delhi it should be better in metro cities. If anyone also has any experience dealing with tcl service, your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I am planning to buy the same Tv... Can u pls provide me with a detailed feedback on the performance and how is it purely in terms of picture quality. Does it truly come with a Samsung panel? What all models n brands u compared tcl with and how did u choose this over vu or Sanyo or similar budget brands.?
Also your experience with try after sales n installation. Appreciate your feedback.
Since u also have the 49" tcl also... How is this better in terms of PQ? Does it really have a superior panel then the TV flat ones..?
I see uve become an ardent tcl fan... I think your feedback would really help me make an informed decision abt this brand.

Hi, I answered your PM but here you seem to have more queries, so here you go.

I ordered TCL curved in august in the prelaunch days as they were giving a cellphone for half the price with TV, I found traces of same model on russian websites and I felt it a good VFM as none other curved screen is available anywhere near to this price point.

The TV doesnt comes with a samsung panel, I guess. Since TCL makes everthing on its own and also supplies some parts to samsung thats wh amazon advertised it as samsung panel, I dont know tech whereabouts but this was a gimmick as far as i can sumup.

After curved I ordered a 49 inch sanyo panel (IPS) but I felt that one reall shitty as the blacks were so dull comparing with TCL and after spending two hours of calibrting colors the whole experience looked like its some second grade product and i immidiatel called amzon cc and requested a refund and it was approved, later they didnt approve refunds for sanyo models as shown on tv listing reviews for that model, and after receiving refund i ordered 49 inch non smart TCL, it was way better then sanyo, but still the quality cant match 48 curved. Theres not much price difference so I can only recommend the curved model without an hesitation. In this budget you can not have anthing better, since netflix works great as well in the smart features.

Hi, thanks for the feedback and your feedback has really halped me and cleared most of my doubts specially in terms of PQ. It's Samsung panel or not, but it surely means it's a superior panel and/or construction that it's better then their own flat 49 inch model.
Netflix works well is an added bonus then, since the smart part of this tv hasn't been well received any most of the reviews but I don't really care abt the smart features.
I would've liked it even more if it was a non smart model.
Since, I am in Delhi... I am hoping the after sales should be decent enough since with Philips led I've had good experiences with the after sales which is also outsourced /3rd party whereas rest of the reviews I read there are only horror stories to tell.
But I've gone thru reviews where people have received lemons and the this tv had issues out of the box like clouding / bleeding so I just want to know does amazon except replacements for such issue now.. If such a thing happens in my case like Flipkart does.
Like u said, they don't a accept returns for Sanyo led now.

Anwyays... One thing is clear that it's PQ is great fort he price and specially blacks and I am a sucker for great balanced PQ n therefore I've liked Philips in the budget range and now hopefully TCL lives up to my expectations. Thanks a ton again. Would bother u gain to get Picture settings... If u don't mind.

well my experience with amazon says they will replace any lemon definitely if they can't process refund. I can post here a shot of my pq settings once you buzz me to.

Have ordered the TV via amazon for 37k, should be delivered within a day or two. Fingers crossed a lemon is not delivered and it's a perfect peice.

You shouldn't have done that. It is strongly advised to wait for the technician for installation

Well.... I didn't know this.... But I don't think it should he an issue. I did the same with Philips led n there wasn't any issue. I've read few posts here that people have installed it themselves n there hasn't been any issue.
Would ask other tcl owners to chip in.... Would this create any issue...i beleive it shouldn't.
