TCL LED's TV

Think about this way, You opened the Tv but the screen was damage next day the Technician comes for installation, You tell him what happened. What if he refuses to acknowledge that the Tv was damaged in shipping and blames you for damaging it. This way Amazon "MAY" and I say "MAY" refuse to give replacement and ask you to contact TCL for further assistance.

Technician comes opens the Box the Tv is damaged he himself will report that the Tv was damaged and Amazon will issue replacement immediately without any issues.

Hi... TV has been delivered and I installed it myself, couldn't wait for 3 days as per the tcl customer support. For starters csn u pls post your picture settings and other advanced settings... What is on or off n other n all settings. Thanks
Congratulations. I would suggest download one of the numerous TV tuning images and articles available online. You can search by the word THX display image. Follow the instructions that come with it to adjust your contrast, brightness, color, Gama, etc. That will really help improve the display of your TV in your room, which will be different from someone else's.

The TV had excessive clouding / light bleeding all across during black/dark scenes n even more with the lights switched off. The TV has been picked up for replacement and waiting fr the new set which should be shipped in a day. Hopefully this one doesn't have this issue. Apart from this, Ive liked the PQ... And the panel itself has good well balanced colors... Thought didn't get to properly adjust the settings.

OK guys, the replacemnt tv also had the same issue of excessive clouding all over and light bleeding. Now I don't know if it was a batch of tvs which have this issue or I've just been plain unlucky as all the reviews on Amazon only one stated to have the same issue.
Though in love with the TV otherwise in terms of PQ since the panel itself is great fr the price but can't live with the defect since its too much and easily visible over black backgrounds and specially during gaming (dark scenes) and also visible on those black bars top n bottom during movies.
So I am retuning the TV and getting the refund, thank God for Amazon's great support n return policies.
Also, both the times TCL guys didn't turn up for installation after multiple calls to customer care, mind u I live in Gurgaon so expected better support being in a metro.
Earlier one I installed it myself after waiting for days and on the 6tjh day u got a call for installation n by then I had already returned the TV and then the new TV it's been 3 days n no one turned up and today itself I again installed it myself only to find the same exact issue.
So no more tcl for me now... Though worth every penny Id you are lucky to not have this issue.

Very unlucky,
Try the pana 49 uhd for 69 k in amazon
Thanks for the suggestion but that's too high...nt in my budget at all. I have almost finalized the Philips 49put7791 4k for 53k n 5 yr comprehensive warranty.
I have been using a Philips for the past 10 yrs n there after sales support I n gurgaon is great and I've always liked their balanced PQ.

We got TCL 48 curved last week. Just to inform,The customer care fellow in pune is prompt and talk nicely. Also he let us know about the TCL android app which works good with TV.

Well that's good to know, uve been lucky and apart from the above issues I have mentioned the TV itself is great on terms of PQ and panel quality but I guess I was unlucky getting two lemons back to back and no response from tcl after sales in gurgaon.
Would suggest you too check this issue in your TV as well if you too have just ordered.
Watch it in dark room, I mean switch off the lights of the room n while changing channels on dth... If there is an issue u will see the issue when the black display comes fr a second in between changing channels or also during dark scenes of movies or on the black bars. If it's present, you u don't have to look for it, you will clearly see it. I have also posted a video on YouTube, you can search for it. Tcl clouding / light bleeding issues.
If it's not, then enjoy your TV.

I am planning to pick up 55 inch 4K which is listed for about 46K on Amazon. I have seen mixed reviews of TCL here and elsewhere. I want to know if its worth picking up this piece?

if you are not too picky abt the 4k, then you could buy the 60" Infocus for abt the same cost.

When it comes to tv size does matter. But on the other hand if I am going in for one why not 4k is what I am contemplating. What is your view of infocus 60?

there is very little 4K content , everything else will need to be upscaled.
If you are watching a SD channel on your DTH , that's too much of an extrapolation and will likely yield poor quality picture.
The choice is between a larger TV & 4k - I would go with size.
There are many articles only that will let you know that at a 8-10 feet viewing distance, 4K doesnt make sense.

Looking at Amazon reviews, going with TCL is tough decision. Its like Hit or Miss.
Better to stick with proved ones like VU with 3 yrs warranty. Just my thought.

Although i am also waiting for Infocus 4k before taking a plunge.

I am also looking at Infocus 60" or Intex 55" FHD Tvs -- preferably with >60Hz refresh rates.
Many people seem impressed with picture quality of the above mentioned panels/TVs.
Please share your finding too.

I also, started out looking at 4Ks at 50" and then figured, I could get a recent gen FHD 55" or 60" well within set budget of 50K INR.

Another TV I am keenly looking at is the 55" FHD Vu TV (2016) with 120Hz refresh rate.
It's hovering at 46K INR now, but It does dip to 44K INR once in a while. (on flipkart).

Thanks,

Ace.

Are you sure its native 120hz cause Vu uses a software to double 60hz and its really bad

Thank you for bringing that up.

To be frank, I am not really sure.
On the Vu page, it does mention vertical freq. 60Hz and some "Smooth Motion Rate" of 120Hz.

I have not been able to see a proper review of this (2016)TV anywhere.

This is the TV I am talking about.
Vu Premium Smart (55) 140 cm Full HD LED TV - Vu Televisions

If this is not a good example, please share your suggestion.

That means its native 60hz only. Smooth motion rate is horrendous really bad, I am 100% sure you will turn it off. Also if you connect it to GPU it will only pick up the native refresh rate that is 60hz. I have had Vu 4k iconium and trust it was so bad in motion handling for games that I returned the Tv. Also it couldn't do 4k in Full RGB it only did it in YbCr 4.2.0 in limited range. Also the response time 8ms. No matter for what purpose you choose Tv try to get one with 5ms or lower.
I strongly suggest you the Infocus 60inch model. Its a True 10bit panel from Sharp and based on my experince with the smaller 50inch model which is quite impressive for its price(26000-sale) I think the Sharp panel will perform even better than the foxconn panel.

I have a VU 55 FHD.. How do I turn this off ? I have no complaints but I would like to see how it behaves with this turned off.

I dont get any setting in the menu for turning this off.

Hi,

Sorry to read your experience with this TV (TCL 55" 4K).
How easy/difficult was your experience with return and refund?

Basis your experience, I will "take a chance" with the same price 45,999 for the TCL TV.

What TV did you purchase after that?

Thanks,

Ace.
