Any of the brands that you mentioned are good. Check warranty - usually the longer warranty its on motor only. For a family of four a 5.5 or 6 kg machine is good enough.

The procedure to operate a dish washer is extremely easy, if you will use it for a few times then you will realize that it is a great + simple machine to use.

You can on the machine when you are not listening to music or reading and alternatively when you go to sleep you can on it or when you are going out for a short span for some work. However, if the living room size is 15 feet or so as it is the machine sound will not disturb you as the sound is not that high.

I like very much the concept of open kitchen. The studio apartments are also too great but it creates a privacy problem.

Thanks ML. I will check them out. The procedure that the installer explained to me made it look so complicated I just didn't bother. It has been lying idle in my house for almost a year :) I have used these in the US and it *was* easy enough for someone as lazy as me.

I have a open kitchen plan so technically the dishwasher and my music system share the living room with my books and me. The grrrrrrrrrrr-grrrrrrrr of the dishwasher has difficulty keeping up with Geln Gould's tempo. The washing machine does a much better job, especially in the spin cycle :)

hello friends,

i just bought a small vacuum cleaner. it cuts out after apporximately 3-5 mins. it heats up and then does not come on for 10-15 mins.

Is this behavior normal ?

thanks

^ That does not seem to be normal. I do have a small vacuum cleaner and use it to
clean my car. It does heat up quite a bit but does not shut down. I dont remember
the max number of minutes I would have used it one stretch but I am pretty sure it
would be much more than 3 - 5 mins that you are saying.

What Size/Capacity Water Geyser...?!?

Hi friends,

with winter approaching, i'm on the lookout of a new hot water geyser but i'm confused about the size.

if one person had to have a 15-20 mins shower under the Shower, then how many liters capacity should i buy ?

Thanks,

Rana.

Re: What Size/Capacity Water Geyser...?!?

I will suggest a gas fired geyser that uses LPG. It works very well and is cheap too.

Downside: You will require a gas cylinder permanently allocated. If there is continuous gas supply in apartment, nothing like it.

If that is not possible, you can install a storage type water heater. Minimum 25L capacity is recommended but depends upon how cold it gets at your place. Be prepared for an increase of 6 units of electricity per day.

Last, but least recommended option, is the instant water geyser. But this is hopeless for shower.

Hold on pal. Please check and see if you can lay your hands on siemens. They are the best and stay away from IFB, have heard a lot horror stories about IFB products. Its not that you change washing machines every 2 years.Get a siemens and dont lookback.

Well, I myself am looking for a washing machine. In this thread and otherwise, people have generally discouraged me from considering IFB. We have been using a Bosch washing machine for the last almost 18 years. When we bought it, it was being marketed by IFB. But later on, IFB parted with Bosch and started making their own machines.

Anyway, Siemens and Bosch are the same company. However, in Kolkata I do not think Siemens washing machines are available, but a few of the retailers have just started having the Bosch washing machines. According to the Bosch Home appliances India website, volume retailers like Great Eastern, Khosla etc are supposed to keep these machines. But when I enquired two weeks ago, none of them had any stock yet. However, two of the Harmony House outlets at Patuli and Park St had these washing machines. We went to the Park St outlet and inspected two models. They did not have the particular model we were interested in, but told us they could get it for us. However, they tried to push one model very much to us, but I knew this was not there in the India website. The salesman told me it was a new model. I was sceptic and could find the manual inside the drum and it clearly mentioned a date of 2009 on the back page . So, the prospective buyers of Bosch washing machines, be careful, study the website, learn all the current products.

Regards.

Classic case of a dealer pushing old stock.I assume we never make impulsive buys atleast when it comes home appliances coz we expect it to serve us good for a few years.

guys kindly suggest a good Electric Chimney brand for the kitchen and also where i can buy it in delhi. Any particular showroom/shop where i will be able to see various models on display...?

thanks.

Knowing about the appliances that you will purchase is very important because of the quality. You may not always have to purchase a new one when something breaks in your home. In reality, most things are protected by some type of warranty still. For instance, it can be protected by a home warranty, or maybe Sears promised to cover a lot of the things in your home. Even though you will still have to pay a service fee with a payday loan, it will be less expensive than buying it new. Get more data at: "You may not have to fix it yourself"

I feel difference in this thread. This forum is purely meant for hifivision. To promote hifi in India like other European countries and Usa ( Which are true audiophile lovers). Deviation from this line it is hard to me to accept.
