I'm planning to buy this TV from ezone but my biggest concern is USB playback. I can't seem to find on the manufacturer's website or reviews any information about what video formats I can play from a pen drive or external HDD. Can someone please enlighten me or point me to a link?

Also, in case this does not play DivX/MKV etc, in terms of cost, would it be a better idea to buy a DVD player(with USB input to play all formats) or switch to a Samsung(or other) TV which has better USB support?

Shankarbn, I own one of these Regza TVs. USB playback is only for images. It won't play any videos.

For playing your media through USB, you can look at a Media Player instead of a DVD player. The advantage is that these media players can get future upgrades (firmware) for newer formats.
