nothing brand specific, u shud go for extended warranty, irrespective of brand...
And select a brand with good service and presence in india..

So you are cornering down for a better/best TV options!!!
That should be difficult at this stage. Now-a-days most of the TV's (reported - google baba) not any particular brand have some issues or the other. If you are worried about all those LCD/LED/Plasma - then for a peace of mind - you would better go for CRT based one's which would last for atleast 7+yrs and most of them here have them even after 10+ or 12+ yrs.
There is no brand in particular. If your vitamin M is good - go for Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung to name some of the few and you could add extended warranty on them.
