Upgrade cycle - Integrated + Power Amp = improvement or use better Integrated Amp

Would sound of integrated Amp (say PM7004) used as a pre amp + power amp (speakers Rx6) be much better vs. standalone integrated Amp.

Also should the next upgrade cycle be a) replace integrated amp with a better integrated Amp or b) use current integrated amp and add a power amp.

X man, just adding few points to Cor's

1.If your current amp moves for best rate during your upgrade,then move with selling same and add more budget for upgrade.
2.Apart from business view, there is sentiment , I haven't sold my Denon Stereo amp which is 5 yrs old now, but i have upgraded to Yamaha and Onkyo brands.
I got that amp in my first salary, so kept it safe for my Old age listening gear

So it depends on your ears and heart
