hi all,
i am for sure buying today TV. So was confused between
Sony EX 520 and LG LV 5500.
i have auditioned both the TV. Here is my thoughts
1. Sony- HD looks good. Standard Defination was ok. I tried to play a few clips from USB. It recognized a few formats avi, mpeg,

2. I auditioned 2 LG LV models 3500 ( 60hz) and 5500 ( 120hz).
in 60hz tv what i noticed is if u play a HD Clip ( which not a pure hd like 1920*800) the judders were easily visible. But the same clip played on LG LV 5500 the judders reduced.( not completely but the view was smooth).
LG LV 5500 is a IPS panel, 120hz, supports 1TB. The ui widgets were good.
SD was of normal channels were ok. HD channels were good. I kind of liked the TV.
The issue is that the salesman kept on pushing that nobody buys LG TV, A lot of them just come and buy Sony. So kind of enquiring my choice in the forum.

Which stupid guy told u tat????......
I have an LG LE5500, Sonys brand hype gives it extra oomph....

all companys wil v hit models and flop models...it al depends on end user and marketing...U R THE DECIDER....

I tried playing all types of videos ...HD (1080p, 720p, 480p) i din v any problems, i even played 3 bluray quality movies from my BD player...
I played NFS HOTPURSUIT, Battlefield (Radeon HD4850 graphics) havent witnessed any lag or judder
NATGEO AND DISCOVERY HD WORLD from tataskyHD make this TV come alive

It ws awesome, so satisfactory tat i din v a single feeling tat i v made a mistake by takin an LG product....it plays MKV also but only video, tats the only hitch...but not for me i v BD player which can play MKV with audio....

I have visited 13 showrooms, and gone thru 7 models researched for like 2months before selecting this
model.....so u can go ahead is wat i feeel.......(and i think ex520 ws released in 2008, chk again)

hi rajath,
great that u hav shared ur experience with LG tv. i am also deciding between LG and panasonic. thought of buying 42" plasma from panasonic, but due to limited viewing distance now wil hav to go for 32". at waht price u got LE5500. if i remember correctly this model was for sale at 37k (last piece) in ezone jayangar. pls let me know if i can consider any other good model from LG according to ur experience. my budget is max.40k.

still auditing. will give u a detail report monday

I am also thinking of buying the same model. Its great that i finally found someone who can share his experience with this model.

I am not completely pleased with network option. Hulu, netflix... i guess its a joke for indian market.

Let us know how the model works. This model is HD ready and not full HD so will have to be dependent on external devices for HD. Although who uses full HD on TV anyways.

Waiting to know your experience.
