URGENT - Sony 55 EX710 Edge patches

I have a 55 inche Sony EX 710 LED, noticing white glow on all the four corners while in all black screen or in standby, can someone please help/advise me on this. Await some urgent replies as my LED is in warranty.

Call Sony guys immediately and keep following up until they come and repair or replace it.
 
Have called them already. They came took pictures and stuff but say only the Panel can be replaced and I am pressing for a full TV Set to be replaced with a fresh one, Infact I have lost faith in the EX710 series.

I think this is the standard light bleeding issue of edge lit panels so you should be fine even if they replace the panel.
 
I am not at all happy with the white glow on the edges after spending nearly Rs.1.55lakhs, am gonna serve them legal notice if they do not get the set replaced for sure.

Try to get a legal representation and send them notice to get the TV replaced. Then they will agree. Also keep calling them frequently and take matter to their superiors so it will be taken seriously.

But as now EX710 is not in production ask as replacement EX720 which is much better and has good 3D and cost is also around 1.5L.:)
 
Have also told them that I am ready to pick the HX925 and pay the difference amount in cash, hoping for a positive reply from them.
 
you have to contact their area manager. because in my case i have first contacted retail shop but no use then i got the contact no of LG area manager and called him quite a times.

but these days the new electronic items are not worth. because my friend bought SAMSUNG D5000 LED model. which is now giving problem, it switches off itself and on itself.cc replaced the main board but no use.
 
Replacing panel might solve the problem. My EX400 panel had started showing some lines and they replaced the panel and its working ok for the last few months. The LCD is the most loss making product of most manufacturers including Sony. However our hard earned money goes into buying a premium panel and its sad that the defect rate of most of the companies is much more than it should ideally be. Let it be sony, samsung or LG
 
untill we have a good consumer law.we wont get durable product in INDIA.just look at the other nations consumer satisfaction. the products quality is one of the main factor.
 
The more I read such reports on Plasma/LCD/LED TVs, the more I keep on delaying the 'BIG' TV purchase. Thought the 2011 models would have lesser issues ..... but, alas.
Maybe, next Diwali ...........
 
I seen one programme on CNBC Awaaz colled as "PEHREDDAR"
why don't you coll them .They solve lot of complents like this
I belive it comming at 8 o'clock saturday and 10 O'clock on sunday
 
I got a mail from Sony today telling me they wud replace just the Panel and give me one years warranty on the Panel, what do I do. Please advise :(
 
Read their 'sell' docs carefully. What do they mean by LED warranty? If it states that their warranty covers the panel only, then your chances in the consumer court would be slim ........... else, if it is mentioned full LED TV, then ... :)
 
I bought a 46 d6600 Samsung which had 2 big bright patches on right side edges. I took up the matter with the Samsung service on the same day they installed the set. Samsung sent a service engineer who came to inspect after I showed him the patches in various dark scenes, he agreed that the set is defective and took my request for new replacement. followed up the matter with Samsung and got a new set within 7 days. My submission is that new generation edge lit LED are mostly having this problem only problem is that it gets highlighted only in dark scenes and most of buyers do not notice it. So companies are getting away with this plain and simple.
I suggest you speak to higher management at Sony and tell them that you will take this matter to media I am sure they will resolve the issue for their own interest.
