Using DVD player to power JBL Speakers..

Hi,

My Yahama AVR is outdated as it does not support HDMI.

Please share if can use a DVD player with ARC and attach my Infinity TSS-1100 speakers for a HT?

I do not wanna spend another 20-30K on it.

PS: If yes, please suggest a DVD or BD player.....

As far as I know, ARC is a feature of TV to send the audio back to AVR through the same hdmi cable. It is not available in DVD or Blu-Ray players. You can still use your AVR with a player having optical or coaxial output.

does your avr have analouge ins all 6 channel....or optical/coax in.
if yes no need to upgrade.
any dvd or br player with optical/coax out will do nice job.
some br player and most of dvd players do have all 6 channel analogue out.
