Hello friends,

I found this while searching for a remote controller for my PC. This software enables to use my mobile as remote control for PC. There are some soft-wares for android phones (which may be free) but I use Nokia E6.. This software is costing 4.95$ at present (worth a try at <Rs 300). Do check it out. I am yet to get my activation key. Will let you know the experience. If someone is already using it, please do share the experience.

Vectir - IR, WiFi and Bluetooth Remote Control, Mobile Phone PC Media Player Controller

I have tried vectir, pc remoter control (formerly known as bluetooth remote control) with my SE W660i. They work fine and you can control a lot of softwares. You can also browse the playlist. I used the bluetooth version which is slower, but the wifi version will give better speed.

I use a very old technology , VNC. The VNC server is installed on the pc. Install tightVNC on android and you can start seeing the PC screen on your cellphone. You can then control by touch.

Not sure of a client on Nokia but you can search for a VNC client.

Tried Vectir. Wifi had problems. Bluetooth working very nicely without lag. All I need is to control play, pause, next, prev , stop and mute on winamp. Works very well. In addition I can browse my music collection very easily and fast. Only thing, I cannot make play list but thats ok.

Does it work on bluetooth or wifi? Wifi reception on my handset is bit weak. Tried 2-3 sofwares but each time the issue was repeated loss of connection due to weak wifi signal. My netbook has no such problem and my router is a dual antenna D link (can't remember the model but one of the top models of D-link). So I suppose that that my handset is the issue for Wifi

Have been using Bluetooth remote since last 2 days and I am very satisfied. No lag whatsoever. In addition to basic play/pause/stop/next/previous function, I can easily browse my various drives including external drives attached to the netbook. This has almost solved my only proble making the netbook as main music source. Selecting a song from the collection is so easy. I am happy that I accidentally found this utility.

** the lag is there only if you are trying handle desktop directly by viewing on your mobile screen. No lag at all if you are controlling winamp or windows media player as application directly.
