Hi Bro,
In your opinion, what is the best way to clean vinyls to avoid the cracks and pops?
THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF CLEANING. IT'S A MATTER OF RELEASING THE STATIC FROM THE VINYL.
To minimize the static noise you must discharge the static electricity that builds on the vinyl when you pull the record from it's sheath ( particularly plastic, and paper) then dust it with a brush, and place it on the platter. Static builds, and the moment the stylus touches the surface, thunder and lightning!
What helps is an anti-static device to use on the vinyl when you're about to spin a record. The cheapest: a microfiber cloth slightly damp - You only need a tiny amount of moisture in the cloth, so the record will dry out in seconds.
