hi all, Whenever we come across a good system, we keep thinking, dreaming of those to get our hands on that...Whatever the Hi-fi system you have, even if it is the best at that stage, do any of us stop thinking whats next. If yes, I really envy you. If no, you belong to my group.

In school days, tried hard to convince my parents to get a Tape recorder( horizontal bed type). Once I got it, it became a part of me and took pride in listening to my favourite songs recorded in the cassette and the volume level would be just sufficient for my neighbors to hear :clapping: ( Neighbors envy, owners pride). After some months, started thinking about mono tape recorder with radio and of course got it after a few months( just in 36 months)

Now got employed ( in a remote Place) and started earning and started saving to get my hands on that stereo tape recorder with AM/FM from Panasonic :yahoo:and finally got it for 1500 rs and the cost was one and half year of my savings. After a year to this, Philips and BPL came out with Power house which gave me shock by seeing the size of the deck and more on the speakers. Nights have become sleepless till my savings reached a level so that I could get that BPL power house. After I got that, my system has become the talking point of our staff colony . Oh then came the concept of compact disc and a compact disc player from BPL and got hold of that after just 2 yrs. Now comes the cost of CDs that comes at Rs.360 to Rs.400 from the recording companies like HMV/Tips/Venus and Gulshan Kumar changed the trend of CDs which costs pnly Rs.90 of all of those movies released by T-series. Purchased my first set of CDs at Rs. 400 for Hum Aaapki Hai Kaun and Rs. 360 for Baazigar. And colleagues started visiting to my room to have a look of the Audio Compact Disc. Started my CD collection mostly from T-series at 90 Rs each like Aaashiqe, Saajan, Sadak and whatever hit moviesT-series released. Life was musical ( ofcourse after office hours :))

At this juncture, got transferred to the City of Joy ( Kolkatta, 1998 ) and soon bitten by the whats next bug and started dreaming about the mini hifi system from Sony with 3 cd changer and it plays CD as well as VCD also and OMG.. the power watts in 2600 PMPO :licklips:( no knowledge about RMS ) and once again a savings account started. And a after a long long wait of 6 years, gifted my old BPL power house to one of my relative and Sony midi system became my new friend and more cash flown out in purchasing CDs.

Still could not come out of those days and those each equipment whose sound quality was very good and best for me at that every stage.

Want to continue..but still those days never goes out from my mind. And I know that most of us would have gone thru this stage. Share those pls. as it relaxes you like a good music.

which BPL system did you buy, and which BPL cd player?

my BPL system and cd player made up my very first hi-fi system

CWX79 with 700T speakers and VCD100 video cd player for video and audio CDs.

Mine was CWX59 with Bassxpander. And don't remember the CD player model no. it is the first model, I think and the price was 4500/- in 1995. its display would be a red led which shows only the track no.It is just a simple Cd plays that exactly sits well over the cwx59. I got 500 rs exchange for that CD player when I got my sony hifi. But still, I loved the sound from cwx59 which I got it after using my BPL stereo twin cassete player with surround sound and detacable speakers, for a period on 6 months.

When I visited my relative house, a year back, I saw the palyer was lying in a shelf but the speakers were connected to a basic vcd player and was merilly sounding some tamil mp3 song
