I am currently using a 20" Sony CRT TV with Tata Sky + (without HD). I would like to buy a LED TV for around 30 K, I think 32" is good for me. Viewing distance is 6-7 feet.

I have no intention to change my tatasky box to HD as I don't see its worth going for few HD Channels they give which I don't watch.

I have no intention to connect it to a blue-ray or xbox in near future. No intention to connect to wifi or internet also. I am better off doing these in my computer.

I now understand it doesnot really matter if it is full hd or hd ready. Infact I think full hd might make the Non-HD channels awful. Which I'll be mostly watching even if I buy an HD box

I mostly watch HBO,Star Movies, Moview Now, Pix, Zee studio, Star world and News channels, Kid watch Pogo, No one at home really care about sports. Mom watches some regional channels. I am myopic and really against kids watching tv's from near.

How is panasonic TH-L32XM5, is it worth for these requirement or should I go for any other?

Thanks,
Shiju

Hi,

Please help me choosing the right for my needs I have zeroed down to below on flipkart. I am little inclined towards Toshiba as it comes with 3 years warranty and one of my cousin is using this and find the PQ and Sound very good. Is it worth going for a Sony LCD instead of other LED in this limited budget?

HD Ready -
Toshiba 32PX200 (Rs. 28900)
Toshiba 32PU200 (Rs. 24999)
Panasonic TH-L32XM5 (Rs. 25499)
LG 32LS3700 LED (Rs. 28999)
LG 32LS3300 LED (Rs. 25999)

Full HD-
Toshiba 32PT200 LED 32 (Rs. 28999)
Panasonic TH-L32EM5D (Rs. 30899)
Panasonic TH-L32E5D(Rs. 34899)
LG 32LS4600 (Rs. 32199)

LCD-
Sony BRAVIA HD LCD KLV-32CX350 (Rs. 28490)

My suggestion (as always): No need to buy expensive full-HD LED model. Stick to CCFL LCD HD-Ready (720p) in 32" size or below. 25K 1K, should be the target price

Yes if you are going for a 32 or smaller, it is better to go for a LCD HD ready TV. You wont be able to see that much of a difference when you have a viewing distance of 6 feet or so.
