Whatever bike you choose please ensure that the new bike is as powerful or more powerful than the old one. It's very hard demoting oneself to a weaker bike. Personal experience

Totally agree, but I was consulting my mechanic of 12 years, and he told me the new pulsars, hornets etc. are not at all long lasting and are very high maintenance. Apparently they come in for repair/servicing very often and customers are not at all happy with these new models. So I am seriously considering keeping my workhorse.

You know also that the average roadside wrench cannot do much to these bikes and therefore is pissed off with these bikes. I rode my "high maintainence" only one workshop in AP, FI pulsar for about 65K km (well over a third was touring) without ever having to visit one of them.

The last proper ride was a 9 day no roads things in C India.
Almost 9 years back.
The 220 FI that followed my 180 lies rusted and unloved. I am trying to figure out how to get it deregistered and condemn it. There have been many replacements, power remains the same regardless of model. the current ride is a Surly cross check. Long is defined as ~ 100 km.
