Hello all,

I have posted this in the W700B buyers thread but didnt get any responses so new post. I have bought KDL42W700B and I will be getting the delivery in a week or two. :yahoo: So I needed some help from you guys who already own this or similar TV . Along with the TV I am getting a free DVD player (which I might not use) , I have also bought a PS4 and will be getting a HD STB once the TV arrives. So my question is:

Which voltage stabilizer/surge protector or both will I need for the TV,PS4 and STB? Although there are no fluctuations of any kind I would like to be safe :licklips:

The best would be to turn off all equipment when not in use for extended periods/overnight. Disconnect power chord and dth cable from the stb when there is lightning.

I do not know of any stabilizer or surge protector that has saved equipment from a spike or a lighting bolt.

The best option would be to get one of these fixed at the power distribution point (where all the mcb's are relocated) in your house.

OBO BETTERMANN - Produkte

V guard Crystal Plus - most popular stabilizer for 3.3K, it has a built in surge protector also.

However, if you want to make it very safe, add Beklin Ultimate surge protector to it - around 3K

Lightning comes not only thru power points. It can reach through other cables. Settop box antina can catch the lighning and get transferred.

How do you switch off equipments if lightning happens in a lightnining speed ?

Thank you! I was thinking of the same one too :) And I am assuming the power consumption should not be a problem? As all three together will probably consume max 400 W

Which is why I said, unplug power chords and cable running from the antenna or dish.

I have yet to come across a situation where lightning takes place in non cloudy conditions. When it starts raining or if there is a sign of rain, lightning, I turn off and unplug equipment.

You don't sit and watch tv waiting for a lightning bolt to knock it out. I don't take my chances with lightning.

Hi all. My TV dealer says premier 1kva mutikonect voltage stabilizer also should be fine for 32+ inch TV. Its cheap compared to v guard. Cost is 1600 ? only. Am planning to go for it.

Any experts have different opinion on this product?

The v guard one is a 3kva and this is 1 kva. In what means this will make a difference

I was using Vgaurd Mini Crystal Voltage Stabilizer for my old Samsung 32 inches LED. Now I am planning for a 42 inches model TV. Can I use the same Stabilizer for 42 inches model? Vgaurd Mini Crystal Voltage Stabilizer is 1.3Amps. will it support.

Thanks in advance.
