I am looking for a television the befits the equipment I now possess. I have a VU 65", and now, I am looking for a 65" that's up there. Don't worry about the money in your recommendation. I am told some models, though cheaper are sometimes better in reproduction. I would greatly appreciate that kind of expertise.

Thank you much!

The LG oled are amazing, but very expensive
After that comes the Samsung curve, J 8300 or something like that.
After these 2,everything else looks inferior

Go for something large screen, like 85 inches or more. However, for the money, a projector makes more sense. Especially the latest LED projectors are excellent value for quality PQ.

However, if it's a TV that you want then the LG OLED series is what you should be looking for, but terribly expensive. I haven't stopped lusting after a 6 lakh model that I saw in a showroom. Absolutely stunning PQ though how much of that actually translates to the standard definition and high definition content that we consume daily remains to be seen.

Another option is the Sony Z9D, https://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/xbr-z9d-series.

Make sure, whatever your choice is, comes with HDR, the PQ benefits are stellar in comparison to everything I have seen till date. 4K also makes for a compelling argument in its favor, especially if the upscaler in the TV is good.

PS: But if you are really considering spending a lot of $$$ then I would highly recommend a projector and a proper home theater setup. Once you go with a PJ, you ain't going back to a "normal" TV.

Projection is bit out of the question as is 85". Both due to size of house. Only times I wish I was back in Delhi. Wonder what you think about LG OLED65B6P: E6 OLED 4K Smart TV w/ webOS 3.0

When do you think that is likely?
I'll reply to that a little differently.
A Sony 55 inch 4k was quoted to me at 1.7l, I checked with Grey that's affiliated with jumbo, he said 80k. Jumbo is Dubai based with world wide warranty. Dubai same TV 55k.

You should check with this route. Mumbai has jumbo.

Secondly I don't see electronics selling as much cause of this cash mess. I say the prices will fall pretty quick pretty soon.

I checked with Jumbo, they are selling B6T at 4 lakhs. While Shopclues has it at 3.12. The E6T is at 4.08 lakhs. Though I have decided on OLEDs, I am now in a quandary whether to go for B6T or E6T. Though some forums like AVSForum state the difference to be only 3D support, more powerful processor (probably due to 3D support.), soundbar and 2 Premium remotes. I don't watch 3D and I already have an above average sound contraption so wouldn't need the soundbar. Though I don't know what difference a more powerful processor would make apart from 3D. Do you think a B6T would be a wiser choice?

Someone help me make up my mind here please.

if you dont watch 3d then i think b6 is better option. pq is said to be same in same models. so only difference is 3d, remote and aesthetics which i dont think is worth the difference.

even i was seriously considering the oleds but i felt that the blacks were crushed. and when buying something that expensive then it better be near perfect. also the motion in sports seemed a bit odd to me (some blocky type effect when camera panned). its the one thing i hated about lcds and where plasmas were brilliant. but you should try to check it for yourself as it maybe that you're less sensitive to it then me. other than that its a very very good tv. those issues and the lack of 4k/hdr media held me back and i thought of waiting for 2017 models by which time i hope there'll be more media to make most use of the tv. also extended warranty was ridiculous, some 33k per year.

imo if you can wait for the 2017 models then it might be a good idea. but if you have to buy a tv now then go for the b6. if you do pull the trigger please do let us know your feedback

Hello,

Let me say first VU LEDs are below avg. in quality as i have earlier worked with Zenith Group and VU Technologies was a part of Zenith. Definitely OLED is the way to go, i also agree if not interested in 3d so save some bucks and go with non 3d LG models B6T, As you asked drops in price, so it is expected by end of 2018 only. You can expect a significant difference in price. And then OLED technology will also be matured by that time, OLED life expected to be much longer, Picture quality expected to be improved by that time but i understand that time is far from now. After OLED you can consider Samsung high end series as i found their colors are more accurate and natural, and better black levels in high end series as compare to other brands.

Hope it will help.

I do have 3D in VU but have never watched it as I inherently have no interest in 3D, so that settled.

As for motion blur or jitter, I thought those were more prevalent in the OLED 2015 models and had been taken care of in the 2016 ones. Read something on that at AVSForums. I could wait for 2017 models but any clue when they would be out? As for crushed blacks, I would prefer that to the charcoal black of VU TVs.

I totally agree with you. When I said so, as an owner of one, some people here got pretty offended. Its really a waste of money unless all you are doing is letting your mom watch TV. Samsung I am not interested in. So coming back to OLED and since you have been or are still in a television company, what I am interested to know if the better processing power of E6 as opposed to B6 would really show out. For example in complex movie scenes with high action etc. Or any other.

Lg shoppe offering the price of 2.11L

I am interested in 65" only. Thank you nonetheless.

I am no more with the company or the industry and moreover management side. I do not think high processing power will make the difference.

Does anybody know, apart from open packaging and physical tell-tale signs, how can I check on the OLED for number of hours played? In case, they palm off a demo piece to me.
