Why do people buy expensive TV (and not a PJ)?

A PJ is suitable only for a dedicated/separate AV room. It will `destroy' the living room, which the ladies build with so much love & care ( and your hard earned money ). A large TV in the living room enhances its glory and serves as a showpiece as well. WAF is a very important factor in everybody's life.

Narenkum,

I am planning to purchase my first projector epson hc 2000. Should i consider LG 85U! bcoz of lamp hours. Do you feel LG 75 or LG 85U suffice the purpose of watching HD blurays with 700 or 1000 lumens as well as DVD, TV or its good to maintain 2 projectors one for tv and for occasional blurays . Will these leds pj give any rainbow effect. Since you already own an Epson projector advice me to which one I go with.

Srikar,

Epson Hc 2000 seems to be a good choice based on some of our FM's reviews but I have not personally seen it.

I am using Epson TW 8100 and it is too good for the HD movies and kind of ok for the DVD's(Problem is with the source DVD 720P).

The main difference between the 2 Epson's lies in the contrast ratio. For 8100 the ratio is around 3,20000: 1 but for HC 2000 I think it is only around 15,000:1.

Before purchasing Epson, I have also tried LG 75U borrowed from my friend for 2 days and all the HD source looked good(Tried both Blu ray's and Airtel HD channels). In those 2 days I did not notice any rainbow effect, that was the first time watching the movies 2 home on a big screen and that was really excited so did not look into details.

Basically if you have a dedicated room and have the budget then it is better to go with 2 Projectors LED one for the TV and DVD content and other one exclusively for Blu ray content. But if you are planning to have this in a Living room then LED TV is the way to go.

It is my view too but some have taken care of it to a very good extent.

Ofcourse, this may be acceptable to wives only because *both* TV and PJ are present in living room. PJ alone is not really practical if there's a family.
