Hi,
I am looking to buy an LCD TV, our first, as our main and only TV. Living room is not large, maybe a viewing distance of 12 feet at the furthest, 5/6 feet at the closest, so I'm mainly considering (also for cost considerations) 32" tvs. A TV with dlna that I can network with the computer would be the ideal, but I could live with a usb drive solution. The below are my high-end options at the moment. Anyone with experience with any of the below or general advice, please share, by PM (is that possible in this forum?) or by thread post or redirect. The most important feature, in my opinion, would be the TVs ability to handle movement, from game, tv, and video sources). I'd be particularly interested in any reviews of the Toshiba (3 year warranty). Thanks in advance for any help!

1. Samsung 32d550 - quote: Rs. 30.5 (from local showroom)
2. Sony 32NX520 - quote: I think Rs. 35k at the showroom, but this might be a mistake (it might be a bit more).
3. Toshiba Regza 40AV10 - 40" - quote: Rs. 40k.

Hi Frnd,

Bravia you mentioned is correct price, check this Buy Sony Bravia KLV-32NX520 32" Full HD LCD TV at Best Price in India - Also find Specifications, Photos, Features & Reviews, the negative point in this model is the glass panel, it makes it reflective and spoils the fun. I would suggest Bravia 32CX420 about 32.5k. About toshiba the same model you can get at 30.5k and better model is 40PB20, costing 38K. check the letsbuy and flipkart, you will have an idea the lowest price a model carry. after that try local shops and malls for better offer.

Have a great Day !!!:ohyeah:

Hi,
Thanks! I'll look at the two Sony models again in the showroom. I've been reading about the Samsung panel lottery, which makes me step back from the 32d550. I had wanted the dlna 'allshare', as I would ideally like to have the tv connected to my home network, to access movies stored on a computer, but if there's a high chance of getting an inferior panel and running into the need for service, etc... I'd rather pay a bit more for the Sony (which I'm not sure can network with the PC), and if I'm there, why not go a bit further and go for the 40", which moves it from 'tv' to 'home theater'. But then the question becomes: is the quality/feature-set of the Toshiba lower than that of the Sony/Samsung? I don't want to go for the bigger screen only to end up with a poor quality screen... Which new TV to buy is a wonderful problem to have, but it does seem to be a problem.

Believe me buy one size larger than you plan. I purchased 32 EX520 and now think that I should have purchased 40 incher. Sony tvs have more natural colours though a bit expensive

Yes my frnd, the two sony models doesnt have DLNA feature. LED range have the DLNA. why not use your computer to bravia directly via HDMI/VGA or use the USB to connect HDD. And regarding the Toshiba tvs earlier models are not up to the mark but check their latest range and decide.:)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
