Hi,

Am helping my brother set a basic HT and have suggested this setup -

Yamaha RX-V375 - 28K
Boston acoustics XS soundware 2.1 - 12.5k (Quotes from a local dealer in bangalore)

The usage would be mostly music and regular TV.

He plans to upgrade to Centre and surrounds later.

Is this a good setup? Is there any other options in this price range?

We are considering Yamaha HtiB 299 for 35K. But my call was separates as music is priority.

Suggestions.
Thanks

Add compatable Centre and pair of BS or FS later
change XS's speakers to surrounds

More suggestions...
1. AVR + BS or FS (Sonodyne Sonus 1501 or 2504). later add C/surround/Sub
2. HTiB 299 + extra BS or FS

Thanks...will try to audition the Sonodyne.

And the center for Boston is another 4 extra so we thought of going with 2.1.

Did audition the YHT 299 and came no where near boston in terms of music. Felt the sub was underwhelming with 6inch driver.
