There are hardly any reviews of Xavian speakers on the forum. As such, Xavian seems to be a very niche speaker brand with limited online reviews. Additionally, it appears there are currently no Indian dealers for Xavian speakers. AV Lounge in Chennai used to be one, but they no longer deal with them.

I would like to use this opportunity to start a discussion thread about Xavian speakers. Owners of Xavian speakers are encouraged to share their purchase and user experiences, opinions, reviews of speaker models they own, and post pictures to help and guide others.

With that, I will start with my question. I have a query for the knowledgeable forum members about the Xavian brand.
  1. Currently, I am considering purchasing the Xavian Joy and need some guidance. The Bonbonus 2 is popular among audiophiles here. Is the Joy a significant upgrade over the Bonbonus 2, given they share the same type of drivers?
  2. Where does the Joy fit in the hierarchy among the Dolce Musica, XN Series, and Natura lineup?
  3. Any insights on their custom-designed AudioBarletta drivers?

They make some nice speakers. Quite popular in Europe. Classy finishes and great workmanship along with great driver choices. Not sure why they have not really caught the fancy of Indian audiophiles.

I have extensively heard Xavian speakers in my friend's showroom in Chennai. I had also done a write-up in 2017, will link below.
Very good brand, but, since Covid, according to my friend, the production quality has gone a bit north, and he has since quit its distributorship.

Thank You for sharing. Very professional writeup and I enjoyed reading it. I somehow missed it when searching for Xavian threads.

Are you referring to Mr. Venkat from AV Lounge? I recently interacted with him and found him to be a pleasant person. It's unfortunate that he no longer deals with Xavian.

I guess it could be because of their business model focusing on going direct. For example, they just have one dealer in Canada for the entire North America. Since AV Lounge no longer represents Xavian in India, this might have contributed to their lack of visibility here.

Nevertheless, based on discussions with fellow members, it seemed that there's a community of Xavian enthusiasts within the Chennai audiophile scene. I could be wrong but this is what I felt.

So I reached out to Xavian directly and here is their response :

Joy is not a significant step up from Bonbonus 2 (Dolce Musica) and belongs to the same qualitative class. The differences are: the cabinet is made of solid oak, while Bonbonus is made of MDF, the woofer can withstand a greater load - thus overall greater power. Otherwise, the tweeters are the same. Joy has a lower sensitivity of 2 dB.

As per audiophilia.com, the hierarchy is Dolce Musica, Joy, Natura and top of the line Epica. Bonbonus falls under Dolce Musica.

XN series are old makes, still they are good.
Joy is not that step up from Bonbonus v2 atleast for sound, as i have extensively listened to them.

Whatever the models, they all reward you for the price you pay. They are unique compared to many brands, not only the sound, also the quality of the products.

The OP just has bought a pair. Its better you can get the details from him. I don't have personal listening experience with this model.

The XN series was excellent. As I mentioned in our chat, I got hooked on the soulful Xavian sound after listening to the XN 125 Junior.

I totally agree. Every model exudes outstanding build quality, is handmade, and has a natural-sounding warmth.

All xavian models have a similar sound signature to the philosophy of the designer. The variation to a large extent lies in scaling and dynamics. If you like the Xavina, you must also listen to Rosso Fiorentino, fabulous speakers.

I recently bought the Perla Esclusiva. They are fairly new and still breaking in, but so far, I am enjoying them. They are very musical, engaging, images really well, have an expansive soundstage, and no harshness whatsoever. The bass is very tight and adequate, with no hint of boominess. I find myself not skipping tracks, which is a good sign.

The Perla Esclusiva is an upgraded model from the original Perlas, featuring an upgraded crossover using Mundorf capacitors, better binding posts, and higher quality timber for the cabinet (Italian Oak compared to Walnut on the earlier model). The build quality is world-class, and each speaker weighs 7.7 kg.

Congrats on your new acquisition, those have got wonderful reviews. Was reading about Xavian & they make fantastic speakers with excellent craftsmanship. Their Medea speakers with their stands look like a piece of art plus supposed to sound great too. It's a pity that their presence is not felt much over here & overshadowed by the usual big brands.
On a separate note, did you get to compare the sound of the Perlaswith the Bonbonus or your previous speakers, although the comparison is not fair where the price point is concerned. Thanks.

Thank you, Sir. I never had the chance to listen to Bonbonus, only in WhatsApp audio groups. The XN 125 Junior was the first Xavian I listened to, and I was floored by its effortlessness and musicality. My Perlas are yet to reach that stage, or perhaps I need to adjust isolation and room acoustics.

I love the cabinet shape of the XN series; it makes a statement.

Most welcome Sir, very true. The XN series makes a bold statement but though may be a big price jump.

It's all based on your room acoustics and speaker placement. In general Xavian's are capable of creating a detailed and precise soundstage, with individual instruments sounding distinct and separate.

I noticed that you are using a Focal speaker, how would you rate them in imaging?
