Right now I am listening to ...

..and hey Ruenigma...congratulations bro!:)

Thank you unleash!

Just popped in Karma by Delerium, another new age group with a dark attitude, Karma in particular is one of their darkest renderings, however these ppl are definitely capable of belting out tracks which are melodius and refreshing too, the album in point being "Poem".

Do give these guys a chance to experience some truly dark renditions.

Personal fav from this album "Enchanted" and "Lamentation"

I digged out the Best of Delerium cd, but cldn't find the said tracks in that. May be I'll check out the exact title you mantioned.

When it comes to Electronica, my all time favourite is Tiesto (cant remember how many times I have listened to the "Adagio for Strings") followed by Paul van Dyk. May be I'll add Paul Oakenfold also in the list - I bought cds of these guys to get a feel of it some time back. Another old ones in my collection are Dreamland, Safri Duo etc.

FWIW, my bro-in-law is a die hard fan of Benny Benassi, window shattering bass, not to mention the videos! Its fun once in a while.

Cheers

Both Tiesto and PVD are well below their standards at present. They are producing nothing short of crap if you compare what they have produced some years back.
Both PVD's and Tiesto's latest artist albums were crticised a lot.
Ofcourse, this is my personal opinion.

I am sure you must have heard somethig by BT. Some people call him a magician :o
But offlate he has not come out with anything much. He was suppose to perform in Mumbai last year but it got cancelled at the last date.

Also try out an album called Always Together by Aurosonic. Its not chill out music but something like in the genre of what PVD and Tiesto produce. Mostly uplifting and progressive trance.

Also DJ Shah has come out with few albums in last 6 months in the his own name and alias "Sunlounger". Give his music a try.
His kind of music is termed as Balearic music. Its mostly chill out music with lot of ambient sounds in it

"Raincoat" followed by
"Omkara"

If you guys have missed these two albums (which i am sure most of you haven't), these are unlike the typical run of the mill bolly albums. All tacks from Raincoat and a few from Omkara are truly timeless classics. Something which i'd luv to showcase as classics of "our" times to my kids.

Happy listening

Eva by Heart -by Eva Cassidy
Lebel:Blix Street

A remarkable album created by Chris Biondo, her producer and the other musicians.
Here stringed instruments and the versatile voice of Eva Cassidy blend together to a piece of music...

"How Can I Keep From Singing?" is amazing ,As well as "Blues In The Night",has some gopel touch. The singing style is very original. ..one must listen to it ..

The album is classified under folk genre but the listener will interpret the numbers belong to blues..:)

Hi Kamal,
I'm new to the forum and love your idea of exchanging views on the actual music itself, apart from whats required to play it. Right now, I am listening to "Don't shoot me ...... " by Elton John, after ages. Will then move on to some Neil Young.Cheers,

Hi Dinyaar,
I love APP too. Heard Billy Joel- GH, last night and Supertramp this morning. ;)

Hi 2leftears and Dinyaar,
I'm new to the forum and am glad to find similar tastes in music. I really like Supertramp and also APP, along with many other bands too numerous to mention here.Cheers & Happy listening.

Hi SKR
Ruenigma is talking about the soundtrack of the movie "OMKARA". The music is composed and the movie is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj

@Rikhav: thanks :)
@SKR Rikhav correctly answered you, How is the Balamurlikrishna's album? Contents, publisher?

Listening to a 1993 album by Vishvamohan Bhat and Ry Cooder "Meeting by the River"

Definitely not among Mohanji's best of albums, however I love the interplay between the two seemingly similar "string" instruments. Where the mohanveena creates the melody and the guitar provides the necessary oomph for environment creation, tabla is also very subtly used in this recording.

I appreciate mohanji for the respect he maintains for his accompanysts and fellow performers. You have to watch him live to see the camaraderie he shares with the other's sharing the stage with him. :)

Hi Sanjay,

A warm welcome to this forum. Coincidentally am going through a Neil Young phase myself - Just finished listening to early classic albums like 'After the Goldrush' and 'Everybody Knows This is Nowhere'.

Regards,

Hi Persiflage,
Thats what I was also listening to - ' After the Gold Rush'. Followed it up with 'Year of the Horse 'and 2 versions of 'Keep on Rocking ...' . Then felt truly nostalgic and heard the next best thing - 'Deja Vu' by CSNY.Will do 'Crime of the Century' ( Supertramp) with lunch. Cheers,
