You did read it right :) Buble is amazing and reminiscent of the ol' ratpack, especially for someone so young...

Hi moserw,

When you post an album picture/name on this thread, it would be great if you could also provide us some details about the music and recording quality. I am looking forward to your review of Delli6.

Thanks,
Sharad

Will do Sharad. Coming to Delhi-6, the recording is pretty good, not pristine audiophile SQ, but will sound great on even decent equipment especially the vocals on most of the album. Coming to the music, another winner for ARR, elements of sufi/fusion music on this album, not the usual fast paced ARR, but more in the mold of say Jodhaa Akbar. My wife really loved/loves the music of Jodhaa Akbar and ditto for this too. I liked it better than the Golden Globe winner Slumdog Millionaire Soundtrack in fact, not that I am putting down Slumdog Millionaire, but ARR has give much better music in Tamil and Hindi movies than Slumdog Millionaire.

One of my childhood favorites from when I wanted to be a cowboy. AQ is not all that great and not really a great performance either from the Ned Nash Orchestra. The original recordings/performances were very visual something like The Shadows (one of my favorite bands), but this is very pedestrian stuff. Still keep it for my childhood memories of all the westerns that I saw while growing up.

AQ is good, a must if you want to discover Joe Satriani or even if you like great guitar work. Debatable, but some do consider Joe Satriani the best guitarist ever. My picks for that would be Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins (not much of a Hendrix fan myself), but nevertheless this is a great album and a must have for any rock music fan.

you can add slash (guns and roses) to the list of best guitarists - some of his stuff is heavy metal but on his slower songs (for instance sweet child of mine) the guitaring is way out - he leads and owns the song - not taking anything away from axl rose:)

hey moserw i';ve been looking for a best of willie nelson cd - any idea where it is available in secunderabad

I think you should find them in Music World or Sangeeth Saagar, but I cannot say for sure.

BTW - I do agree with you about Slash and even like Eddie Van Halen too for his guitar work.

Nice old songs with a strong feel good factor. The recording is not bad at all considering that these are pretty old originals.

Thanks,
Sharad
