onkyo 3400 or 3500 for 27000 is a good price..

How good is the Onkyo HT 35000 Avr on itself . If one scraps the Speakers after sometime , would the Amp work as a decent one with nicer bookshelves , can it be connected to an Active woofer later .. please understand I am a noob.

Hi Prosenjit how did u make a 720P DIY projector , was it a LCD removed one , how did u make it

Hi,
Yesterday went onkyo showroom & saw the model (3500).The sound really great. They said 28k 1st,finally they are ready to give by 26k.
Here my question:
1)3500 has passive subwoofer(I like to go for active subwoofer in future). In future is possible to up great the speakers & subwoofer in this model??
2)I don't have tv. I m going to connect with my system(desktop).
How to connect the audio by system to amp?
My graphic card has 2 hdmi output. hdmi cable support audio?
3) If I connect with audio jack, Shall I get the 100% audio effect
or any converter there?

1. You can use active subwoofer with speaker level input.
2. HDMI supports audio. Connect the hdmi to the avr and in the Windows sound settings select hdmi as the primary audio device.
3. No. Use HDMI for audio to get correct 5.1 sound. The movies should also have 5.1 audio.

really???
wow cool
thanks dude
my friend said can't up great speakers & subwoofer. So I asked the question

3. No. Use HDMI for audio to get correct 5.1 sound. The movies should also have 5.1 audio.

While upgrading the sub, select one that has speaker level input. Most subs have speaker level input. I suggest you to audition Denon 1312XP also. It has active sub.

I am also looking for getting an AVR. Could you please let me know which dealer offered you the 3500 at 26 K.
Thanks

MRP of Denon 1312XP is Rs.33,900/-

But you can bargain and should get it at 30000/-

8-10% discount is normal on MRP of HT. Otherwise you can coax him to "gift" you a HDMI cable......;)

Thanks dude

What is the purpose

Auto Setup/Room EQ
HDMI OSD Overlay
HDMI I/O
Component Video I/O
Composite I/O
Video Upconversion
Video Upscaling
Preouts
??

I would like to know about those things? Kindly any one give explanation?

Autosetup/Room Correction - The avr sends test tones and is measured by a microphone. It then calculates the distance of each speakers from listening position and adjusts the gain or volume of each channel, audio delay, frequency etc. to suit the room environment. It is a good thing to have autosetup feature in the AVR.

HDMI OSD Overlay - The AVR can display its graphical user interface (GUI) through hdmi to view on the TV. It is very useful when adjusting the avr settings. Without this feature, you will be forced to use the tiny front screen display to set the avr which is not easy.

HDMI I/O, Component Video I/O, Composite I/O - The AVR accepts these types of inputs and outputs through the same kind of ports.

Video Upconversion - Converts all analog video signals (Component/Composite) to output through the HDMI. This feature is useful if your devices have no hdmi out. The avr hdmi out will display the video on TV. Without this feature, you will need to connect Component/Composite outs of avr to TV.

Video upscaling- Converts SD content to 1080p.

AVRs with video upscaling/upconversion are expensive and in my opinion are not required if all your devices have hdmi out.

Autosetup, Video upscaling/upconversion are missing in these HTiBs. Video upconversion/upscaling is not important.

Thanks a lot dude (baijuxavior)

Onkyo HTS 3500 or Denon DHT 1312 XP having all those future?

Denon DHT 1312 XP is more future proof because it has Active sub. So if you can to upgrade the speaker package. But in Onkyo HTS 3500 the sub is passive means the amplifier of the sub is built in the AVR. So you can not change the sub if its malfunctions. You also need to change the AVR in that case.
On the other hand Denon DHT 1312 XP has sub pre-out, means you can add additional sub and change the speaker package to your choice.
Denon DHT 1312 XP has Fully discrete, identical quality and power amp for all 5 channels. So it should give better quality sound.
