Hi All-

I have a buffalo LT-V100 Media player.. and I am facing a wired issue with it.. its able to play all .mkv files below 2GB size.. however when I try to play a 2.5 GB .mkv file ... its ONLY giving audio and NO video ? Did anyone face similar issue with his / her any media player ? pls help

Thanks

I haven't had any issues with my Popbox V8 media player above 2 GB files in any format.

Have you tried to update the firmware of your media player? How old is it?

I have installed the latest firmware .. and the device is just 5 months old.. I have seen there are few similar issues with WD media payers..

Sometimes the video or audio track is compressed and this can cause problems in some of the media players regardless of the file size.

You can correct it by encoding the file again without compression.
I use 'mkvtoolnix' for this.

Shivam-

Thanks for the reply..

Interesting part is that.. it does not Play any .mkv file which is more then 2gb in size.. I tried many files with no luck :-(

Yes, as Shivam suggested there is issue with the encoding, use correct one. Sometimes it happens because of wrong codec used or not supported by player.

Could you offer me how is fix it .. as Shivam Suggested use " mkvtoolnix'.. not sure what needs to be done after downloading and installing this fix ?

website says " MKVtoolnix is a set of tools to create, alter, split, join and inspect Matroska files( mkv). Command line tools but mkvmergeGUI frontend is included (mmg.exe)."

Open the mmg.exe file. Drag and drop the mkv file to the 'input files'. It will show video, audio, chapter tracks etc. Check the format specific options. Press start muxing to remux the video. I suggest you to use an old version like 3.0. I used this older version to remux the files when I had playback problems in himedia player.
