Hai HFV friends recently I have purchased an Epson TW480 720p Home Theater projector and I want to share my experience with you guise.

Firstly my HT set-up consists of -
PJ : Epson EH-tw480 (Price 49k from Kolkata)
Screen : Screen Technics A++ 4'x6' Insta Lock High Gain screen (Price 4k from Shri Satguru Traders, Mumbai)
HDMI Cable : 5 meter MX hdmi cable v1.4a (2.1k)
Audio : Logitec Z5500 5.1 THX speaker system
GPU : Zotac GT440 (NVDIA)
Sound Card : Creative Sound Bluster Audigy SE

Well I must con-face that I have no dedicated HT room so I set it up in my small bed room (12.5' x 11.5'). My viewing distance is hardly 10' away from screen.
The following pictures are some sample pictures using Panasonic ZS7 digital camera---

This Pj gives a nice and smooth picture with good contrast and decent black level considering it's a 3lcd projector. Moreover no rainbow effect.
For me it's a nice HT Pj with in budget. Hope it will help my friends who wants a Ht set-up within limited budget. And of-course my old Logitec Z5500 has come alive with this Pj. All the files that I have played are 4-6 gb .mkv rip.
I will give some more updates and pictures later on.

Congrats. I believe your screen is 120" diagonal, how's the viewing experience from your distance. Any eye strains that you have observed?

No, It's only 84" approx. (6' x 8' screen) at 16:9 format. I have set this format for all my viewing. No rainbow effect so no strains on eyes. I can see it for longer period smoothly without any issue. And the color is very natural, vibrant and eye smoothing.

Congrats on your new setup. Any specific reason you went to 720p projector?
Actually my original budget for Pj was 35k-40k and thinking about led pj's like LG PB60G or Acer K330 but after having demo of this epson Pj I starched my budget to maximum point and bought it. 1080p Pj is far away from budget.

great achivement dada..
great..
your photographic skill is also very nice..you captured nicely..

btw you can lower brightness to get a better percieved black level
also make your whole room black..you will get better clour and contrast

very very intelligent decision for not going LED pj and going for this model..and dont be upset about 1080..at 10 feet distance 720p is super fantastic..so enzoy

Z-5500 is a great system. I am still using it even when I have a set up with Marantz NR1402 AVR.
Your decision to go for Epson-TW480 is also correct and I am also thinking to go the same way as I am having same restriction of space as you are having.

Bah!!! Very good dada. I have decided to go for projector next time I upgrade my TV.

Nice setup, and beautiful results...have been craving for one.But when we try buying, our budget just keeps on growing.
I am in for an Epson pj specially after my two Sony bravia full HD tvs gave up,Sony sucks now.The customer support is nil too, pathetic state of affairs, for every small thing they need to replace some board or the other and ask a price of 10k and above for repairs...huh...

Anyways I am considering Epson eh tw550/6100/8200

Just wanted to ask,are you happy fir not going for full HD? Would there have been tremendous improvement over present setup? Do you feel?

Well it's obvious that full HD Pj will give far better result than 720p Pj. 1080p Pj was far away from my budget so I have to settle with 720p Pj but I have no regrade for that very very happy with it. Yes up-gradation is always an option for betterment, may be in future. What make me happy is the smoothness of picture and accurate color reproduction I mean red is red, blue is blue and green is green. Picture may be little less sharp compared to DLP Pj's but no rainbow effect. You can enjoy a full length movie at ease, no strain on eyes.

If you have good content min. 10gb+ full HD rocks and since full HD pj have 24p support no shuttering for horizontal movement of picture which is a Cons. of 720p Pj.

TW550 is a 720p pj with 3D support.

Last night I have watched X-Men First Class Blu Ray .iso downloaded from 'Public HD.com' it's great man.
