Purchased Microtek 800 VA UPS for Rs. 3189 from Amazon India. Will get additional 10% off that will be reflected in the billing cycle.

This is to support for my recently purchased 5370. Shipment on the way, expected delivery 28th Apr.

My Experience with ACER H5380BD. currently I have not any HD source, I checked with laptop and SD BOX only.

Pros:
Picture Quality is good.
Very bright projector suitable for home entertainment.
Compact Design
Manual Focus works great, give maximum clarity
Value for Money

Cons
Dark Scene watchable in user mode only but user mode are very bright and hurts to eye.
Unable to show current Lamp Usage Hours.
Fan stop immediatly even after proper shutdown, as per my knowledge FAN will stop after 60 second for cooling purpose.

Will post picture soon, Once getting HD source. Looking to Buy TATA sky HD.

Congrats rgoswami. Enjoy your PJ.

Current lamp hours and fan stop are in settings. I think it is under the "Projector" settings. You need to enable them manually.

I found every mode equally effective. DarkCinema is my favourite. Though projector is so bright that I always use it in the Eco mode even during day time.

It shows lamp usage. I checked this first thing

I did not notice that. Should I?

There is a shut down setting in PJ and you can select other option.Default is instant shut down.
For dark scene, you have to set it according to your test.I have no issues with dark scenes.
Try HDMI connection as there wont be any video signal conversion.

Yes, you will have to enable that. It is best to use the fan to cool down the lamp and then let it shut off. It is not 60 seconds but 120 seconds.

Question - If Acer is capable of instant shut down, why we need to go for the manual cool down option? Will it extend the bulb life?

Good question, even I have wondered that... maybe in colder countries, the PJ will run cool compare to ours. Another reason maybe that, if used in a classroom or for an application which uses less time like a small video presentation, it makes sense for an instant shutdown.

If you opt instant shutdown, when booting up the fan is run.

BTW, I like the way it dims the bulb slowly in stages and then it puts it off completely.

Well..this same question came to my mind as well and I thought perhaps that is the way projectors should shut down and sudden power off could harm it. Also, I never came across any site with such recommendation not even in reviews.

Though i have done the setting for slow shut down but it would be great if somebody could point out any reference material in this regard.

Finally received my 3D glasses (Sainsonic as recommended on this thread), and new media player (KDLinks 720) with full 3D support. Watched Gravity and instant gratification :D!! Thanks to the good folks on here.

By the by, now my earlier media player (WDTV first gen) has become free. Is there still a market for it?
