Hi Friends,
Today I am sharing my recent project on floor stander speakers. I had started this project couple of days back. This floor standers will look like Klipsch RF 7 series.
For this built I had specially purchased this plate joiner (Makita PJ 7000) another addition to my power tools. It makes the clamping task easy when you are one-man army.
Below are the Biscuits or you may call them bullets
The External Dimensions are 1220 mm (Height) x 295 mm (Width) x 390 mm (Depth). The ply used is Birch Ply and it will be covered by veneer for the final finish. Veneer will be applied on five sides except for the front. Front will be mirror finish. I don’t have experience in veneer job so this will be done by professional carpenter. But still fingers crossed because I am worried about the joints.
Now I am sharing the photos of work completed till date.
Cutting of all Baffles along with clamps and other tools.
The slots done with help of plate joiner. No need to struggle for matching the parallel edges / faces.
See the Face in below Photo. Just a light Sanding & you are done.
Clamps : Makes the job lot easier to hold it in perfect right angle until glue is dried.
Below is the photo of complete view of claps holding the work pieces in perfect right angle. The Center Piece is not glued, it is clamped with the bottom piece & is used as a support for the clamp to match the 90 deg angle of the right side work piece. & for left side the base is itself used as support.
Getting ready for sanding.
I had also bought few other handy clamps for this built. Small clamp is 1.5 inch & big clamp is 4 inch. (these are also quick release type clamps)
& Below Photos are today's click. Work completed till date.
You can see in above photo there are 4 slots. these are initial mistake with my new power tool. I dont have to worry about it because veneer will take care of it. I just have to fill it with mixture of glue and wood dust. & It is done.
Now these are ready for applying veneer, I will be take them to carpenter for same. When they will be back the Front baffle will be cutted according to the size which i will get after veneer is fitted.
I will keep updating until the project is finished.
Sadik
