2011 Samsung Plasma 3D PS51D550

Hey, how did you get nVidia Play to work? Did you have to buy it? Can you confirm if it can support my 8800GTS card with DVI output? nVidia site suggests its not supported.

Did you use Full HD Frame Sequential 24Hz settings to output through nVidia 3DTV Play or SBS?

It DOES output 5.1 DD/DTS output when available for USB Movies playback! Hope you have discovered this feature, you just need to use a movie which has those output to unlock through tools menu.

That was a great review, I hope to see those games in action some time at your place ;)

Hey, i downloaded the 14 day trial version of nvidia 3dtv play software and am using it. After that i will probably have to buy it (costs 39$).

I tried both 1080p 24hz and 720p 60hz frame-sequential output to my tv and they worked, though for games 720p 60hz is the ideal one as 24hz is not enough for gaming. Also i played movies on nvidia 3d vision player and for that i outputted at 1080p 24hz and it worked flawlessly. :)

nvidia does not support outputting as SBS frame. If your 8800GTS card supports nvidia firmware higher than 265 or 270 then it will surely support 3dtv play even if it is not officially supported. I previously had a 9500GT and i used to play 3d games in anaglyph using nvidia 3d vision drivers and it worked well even though officially it was not supported.

Come over to my home anytime :) We can test out all the cool 3D stuff.

Just spoke to a TV dealer here in mumbai. He said we dont get too many options in india but makedo options , ppl use transparent garware antiglare film and it works he says. Just scared to try that.

I have been asking for such pics from Madhav...

will wait to see the pics...

@kevin

Is reflectiveness so much troublesome ?

It is very troublesome if you are watching a dark film(eg Avatar). Regular TV and movies are no problem. I also have a window bang opp my tv but that can be handled with curtains. Trouble is i dont like watching tv with all lights off so wanna use some antiglare so i have the best of both worlds.

As Kevin mentioned, the difference between a completely dark room and a room with even a single light on is showing up on this TV.

There are a set of LED lights (down facing) above my TV. I should probably try them alone and see how the effect is. If that works, you can also try the approach, Kevin.

Please try to upload the pics with these LED lights also, it will be even more helpful.
