Here is what I got to know:

Samsung:

Basic Models like H5100 get free 2.1 Samsung Systenm

LG:

Model like LG 6500 get blu ray free plus one year extended warranty
Basic model like 5610 gets a DVD player free.

Source is Jumbo Electronics. Real helpful salesman. My sister decided to buy from him. Imagine he SMS me sharing offers this season.

i think the offers must be already be on for the Durga Puja in the Eastern Region i.e. Kolkata, Orissa, etc. These translate into the Diwali offers for us here.

@nishabfss,IMO you will be able to appreciate UHD content better in bigger panels viz 50inches or above,another factor would be the viewing distance,if it is more than the recommended for your screen size, no matter what content it is,it will all look the same.

Today I bought a newer model Toshiba 40L2400 for Rs.35500 from a retail store in East Delhi.

Under Diwali offer, Toshiba is offering 2 years extended warranty and a Nikon camera L29 (worth Rs.4000) free with this TV.

I was initially interested in buying 39L3300 model (available at almost same price range) but decided to buy this new model which comes with cevo engine and has better picture quality and viewing angles.

I also thought of buying it at Flipkart (Rs.37K) but was not sure whether I will get these freebies.

howz the performance of 40L2400? Im also considering this and comparing the same with basic variants across the brands(Samsung 40H5100, Sony 40R47 and LG 42LB5510). Im sure you must have compared this TV with its peers before buying. Any inputs in this regard are greatly appreciated.

Great, in bangalore, the same model is selling at 41K with L29. For extended warranty, has to pay Rs. 800 extra. So i was thinking about buying from flipkar where the attraction is exchange offer - 3K for old CRT. Shops are giving only Rs. 750 to 1000 as exchange offer.

How you feel about the picture quality? When the salesman compared it side by side with Sony, i felt that it is no where near to sony. Also what about the connectivity ? Sales people told me that there is no Digital audio out for the Home theare?
