2025 mein SUB kuch badlega

I am using time-aligned DIY cable throughout 😊
God, why do you’ll use such big terms like time aligned cable? Any basic copper cable will be time aligned. If it’s not, the entire recording and performing industry will have to shut :)

Seriously, sometimes reading posts on forums scare me. :)

The charging cable for my watch could be said to be time aligned ?

It's a combination of copper + silver + magnanin wire - different gauge. The magnanin wire is for reducing cable inductance

The MJ Acoustics Ref 200 came in today.

First round of setting is done. It’s 35 hz crossover and -45 gain. I have not yet touched the phase. It’s at zero.

Once I dial in the final sub position, gain and crossover, I will then adjust the phase.

With the app, setting up is very easy. At 35 hz crossover, the music locks in. At 34 hz and 36 hz it doesn’t. I wonder how does one do it manually? It’s impossible to get such precision.

The sub is really nice. My biggest worry was will I lose the speed of the Axiom? Speed with the sub is intact.

They said..True stereo heads would'nt touch a subwoofer with a barge pole..

So many "gurus" have argued in the past that a subwoofer ruins the stereo experience

Life does come a full circle sometimes.

and as long as the music locks in step with the room...it shouldn't really matter.

SUB kuchh seekha humne...na seekhi hoshiyaari..

Sach hai duniya waalon..ke hum hai anadi !

:)

Wishing you good music and joy !

I too, like most, was very skeptical of adding a sub to the main speaker. In the past I had tried a REL with the Rethm Second and I just could not integrate it.

If the MJ sub didn’t have the app and if I had to set up using the knobs, I don’t think I would have got it correct.

For a few days I will listen with the sub and then go back to listening to just the main speakers. That will be the true test.

All I can say is if one were to looking for a sub for 2 channel music, the MJ Acoustics should definitely be considered. It’s right up there in performance and ease of set up. To be able to keep up with the speed of the Axiom 80 is saying a lot for the quality of MJ Acoustics sub.

There are many subwoofer brands which bring a lot to the table in terms of features and convenience

MJ is but one of them.

You are correct to the extent that the level of difficulty has gone down when tuning a subwoofer but given time and resources it was surely possible to get a subwoofer right in a reasonable dimensioned room even without apps

Perhaps you might want to try a subwoofer pair next

They say the rainbow at the end is even better with a pair than with a single sub.

Congratulations Prem. Curious to know your first impression. I mean overall musicality and integration. Understand a change in sound takes time to settle in mind and ears.

First let me get used to one sub :)

Even if I go two subs, I will look at two 8 in subs.

So far musicality and integration seems fine. The manufacturer said sub will need 125-150 hrs to completely open up.

I am happy with what I am hearing as of now

An app for subwoofer setup is absolutely necessary. I have an SVS for my two channel home theatre ;) ...Without the app, it would have been so difficult to get the crossover and volume dialed in just right.

Congratulations on the MJ. They are so respected among the people here in the UK. Many people like them over the REL.

Rel may be good but not sure if it is vfm. There may be other good ones too who don't market them like Rel.
In no way was I trying to allude to superiority of MJ over Rel. They are equally respected in the Industry. MJ is a smaller operation and some people prefer it depending upon their application. Like you said, there is a general whisper that you get more for the money with MJ.

Rel of the old started by Richard Lord is not the same. they got taken over by Sumiko sometime back and changed strategy to high powered amps and moved away from their traditional drivers and now they are not the same as before.
MJ still keeps the same philosophy.

Totally understand & agree with you Sir. Both are well respected brands. A company with larger operations and marketing may have a lot of expenses to recover & at the same time charging more for the brand value.
Where as the companies with smaller operations having lesser marketing expenses may always try to give more for the money with their enthusiasm to give better products.
