i have looked at samsung n panny for entry level and i think panny 42X50 is a killer. Panny has improved its look as well as performance for entry level. Screen looks bright...and model is sleek like any led. We can definately look for this one.

TMC hyderabad has come with offer 3rd august to 7th august 5th anniversary celebrations,

42xt50D mrp 54,900 they are giving at 49,990/- with HOME THEATRE free and also plasma range starts from 36000/- referring to 42x30d

The price seems to be high in comparison to market price. TMC never gives the best price in market.

I say the SD performance is more or less same on HD-Ready and FHD. But it is theoretically expected to be better on lower resolution panels.

I strongly recommend that you see and test for yourself. After all individual perception is different.

This time in the market there is no good offers due to economic conditions globally normally some offer or the other will be in advertisements etc, even occasions like Olympics, independence etc the sales campaign will be high which is not to be seen nowdays.so take your decisions wisely depending on your requirement and budget and time.

I have visited few places and was not able to see display model for 42XT50 however can see 42X50. Seems it will take time to get XT50 or UT50 on display. However I could get following rate (not negotiated):
42X50: 44900
42XT50: 50500
42UT30: 54000 (yet to get more details. But its fresh piece and not display one)

In one of showroom I could even see 42v20 (which was rare to see). It was not even in same shop sometime back. Sales person said its been placed on display just 2-3 weeks back and rate offered was 65000

Sales person also informed about display piece for 42st30 in some other shop and rate was quoted of 57000
However told that I will get warranty from date of purchase.

One of my friend informed that if you are not going to select panny ST series onward then you can even think about sammy in entry level plasmas (42E490.)

I am bit confused now...

If the V20 is from reliance digital, run away as fast as you can. It is n display for 3 years now. Check the display time otherwise. Hell, not worth > 40-45k even if new.

The display piece 42ST30 is available for 49k in croma jubilee hills.

50D450 plasma sealed pieces are also available for the same 49k.

I have seen V20 in TMC kukatpally. It's true croma jubleehills 42st30 is display piece.
Anyways I have dropped both of them and thinking of 2012 models.

I feel the advertised price seems to be high. There are members who have got a quote of 47 to 48K for the same offier. And obviosuly the X50 model should be somewhere around 42 to 44K.
Looking forward for a better deal.

Thats correct. The advertised prices are just mentioned with almost no discount.. local dealers will offer a much better deal..

Picked up a 42PA4520 at 36.6k from eZone today. With some playing around with the remote - could get very natural looking pictures out of it in store today. Picked it up and came back and read reviews - seems like a decent model worldwide (42PA4500 elsewhere)

Thats an LG model. Blacks levels are pretty average in the night for LG plasmas + they are highly reflective.
Keep away if possible and stick to samsung/panasonic.

Thanks Blasto... I have been thinking about samsung n panny only. Still not sure between X50 and E470. And the confusion is increasing everyday. Both seems to be good n vfm.
