Agreed avmax .. i saw ES8000 and HX750 & HX850 all together @ Croma.. HX850 is in different league.. in fact, I found HX750 better than ES8000... though I never tried to temper with the showroom settings.. may be with better calibration ES8000 can be better .. but no way comes closer to HX850...

Regarding grey market 46hX750 @ 70k seems high .. should be in the region of 60k plus.. as the official one is available at 90k plus.. you should preferably get it around 30-35% discount on that, for the giving up the warranty..

Sony pricing is pretty static. They do not allow heavy discounts. Which is good in a way because that way you will not feel cheated or plagued with "what if" questions.

Even in Sony brandshop, you will get 5000 off a 100,000 worth set. That is 5% I believe. That is what the discount is and that is how much flexibility that Sony permits. There could be some introductory or festive offers but these are usally in terms of freebees and bundles and not a direct discount.

Swageo, kix- I think the standard discount is about 4k across models.. somehow Sony pricing is always at 73, 83, 93, 103, 123 etc... and the prices quoted by all dealers are minus 4K.. 69, 79, 89, 99 119 etc... yes of course u can negotiate for some extra dealers but not beyond 3-4% over that, as far as my experience goes..
