Panasonic Sales Manager Mumbai informs that the demand indent is so low vs other models that they cannot say when stock will reach and how much to be allocated to each city.

For example TH 60S60D (not ST60) is already sold out.

Dealers who don't have stock will play dirty and offer you a price knowing they have no stock. Ask them to commit and they will back out.

For those interested 2 PCs available at Panasonic brand shop at Ghatkopar and 2 at Mulund shop.

Your point looks like very much valid.

Devi international Bangalore, supposed to be very good for discounts on group purchase, is not committing any date / price on ST60D.

Do you have any idea, if we can contact Sales managers directly..as we are already 3-4 interested from Bangalore in this thread. Pls suggest.

Hi just bought a 60S60D from Panasonic Ghatkopar Mumbai @ 1.14.. Good professional service by Nikhil, straightforward. Still has 2 in stock.

Nikhil/Mumbai ASM confirm that 50ST60D are expected but no dates/ no quantities known that will be allocated to Mumbai

Spoke to someone named Girish in Great Deals, koramangala. He had called me after i enquired JustDial for panasonic dealers. He was willing to give 50st60d for 1.035 L earlier and yesterday he said he can bring it down to 1.02L if we offer to buy more quantities. I have not heard of this company - great deals (he claims to be a wholesale dealer). He apparently has stock.

Believe last year the same scenario existed for 50D and then it came down to 91K + free home theatre in Devi International for Diwali.

If there is someone counting folks for Devi international group deal, count me in please.

Thank you- for providing price expectation I plan to visit retail shops today. Does 90L with 4-5 buyers sounds interesting? I shall find out.

I spoke too soon 50ST60 is nowhere in stock and Panasonic brandshop folks told me they cannot accept orders since they have no visibility on when the new models will arrive in India. He mentioned he got many calls like mine- but there seems to be no visibility from Panasonic

Devi Intl mentioned no stock but to check back after a month.

I guess it is time to switch to Samsung...

Very much true.. Sent a mail to Karnataka sales head francis.. But not reply.
Earlier when i asked during he atleast asked me to wait for 2-3months.

But now he stopped keeping reply


Do you mean, Samsung Plasma?? How reliable is the life span??

i do like 51f5500..but there is no proven record for sammy plasma..review says ppl are seeing pinkish color on the screen(2010/11 model) after 2 years.

So worried. Sammy not providing warranty for 3 years..even paid entended warranty not valid on Plasma. this makes me feel, sammy not confident on the plasma.

What could be the alternate now??

if i can find 50UT50D, i'm ready to buy. So wanted to check for some other alternative for 50ST60D.

and according to me the Value for Money model would be Panasonic 50ET60D.

Reason:
600mhz refresh rate.
Very sharp image.
Excellent Blu ray video play back

We can wait till Diwali.. but we should find some alternative rt..i found ET60 can be VFM.

Somehow im not ok with Samsung Plasma tv.

Pls do some analysis. We can plan for group buy on that alternative

I was also looking for Panasonic plasma but got fed up with the waiting. Panasonic don't want to push plasma in India. So now I am purchasing Sony W850 or W900 which is 85 - 90K.

My visit to Modern world, Domlur last week was very disappointing. The attitude towards the customer and overall impression about the shop etc.
I heard they show interest in selling plasmas. Only S60 was on display.
The store had a deserted look. He had to lock the first floor to take me to the first floor to show S60.
They stopped selling Samsung plasma and asked me to check nearby Samsung brand store ( He said it is their store only)

50S60 : Price was 78K. As such no other offers announced
51F5500: 76.5K with BDP offer.
I have given my phone number and told me to contact with better price for immediate purchase. Did not get any response from these 2 shops.

Very unlikely to have the price < 1L. It is not available anywhere. No dealer is able to commit any immediate date. Chances are there to have higher prices now as the dealers may make it available only on demand/booking.

If price is < 1l then I am in for ST60D, if not might get 51F5500.
