A good 50" Full HD Plasma under 75K?

Are you sure the Samsung 50C6500 is still available for Rs. 67,500, because if it is then it should be a no brainer. I assure you that there is no better tv that you can buy in India for that much money. Where is the TV available ffrom for that price?

Sanjay, how did you get it delivered at Delhi? Also, is it a seconds TV as suggested by the Samsung guy at Bangalore? Any dents/scratches/defects in the TV?

Also, did you compare with LG PK550? I took a short demo of PK550 and I did not see the trailing of vertical lines I saw in C6500 (like in news tickers). Also, people have reported motion judder issue like that in the forum here which doesn't seems to be there in LG.

How different is the PQ as compared to C550?

Hi,

Last month we bought the P50U20 Panasonic Plasma for 63k (Giria's, Bangalore). Fully satisfied with it..We felt SD looks much better than other tvs' (HD of course looks great, but we were also interested in SD quality because most channels watched are SD today)...using TATA Sky as DTH.

The TV was 'brand new' and without any 'dents/scratches/defects', atleast as far as I can tell and I do have a lot of experience with audio/video. Additionally, two friends of mine in Delhi, have also bought this TV from Vaibhav under the same scheme and their experience too has been the same as mine. Who is this Samsung guy?

I don't watch too much TV, but I can state with conviction that the C6500 is definately quite superior to the C550. AS for the judder, I myself have not noticed it, but then again I don't really watch much TV and movies I watch on my projector.

PS: I must mention that I received this TV twice from Vaibhav. The first time around I received the TV with the screen totally cracked in several places and the TV too was clearly used or atleast an old piece. But Vaibhav quite promptly arranged for the damaged TV to be picked up and sent another TV.

How is the performance? Did you compare with V20 before buying?

U20 compares to X20 in performance and black level. V20 is a different league all together.

You can say U20 is a FHD version of X20. Same PQ, only more pixels.

Actually the U20 is not truly a 'FULL' HD TV. Panasonic themselves clearly state that the 1920x1080 resolution is applicable for still pictures only and that the resolution for moving pictures is actually lower.

But how many can see the difference between full 1080lines of motion resolution and 800 or 900 lines.

So, how much is the V20 going for?
Also, is 50C6500 a 2010 model? or 2009?

How does the U20 compare with 50C6500?

^ I don't think many of us will see the difference. Major difference I see between U20 and V20 is USB and Black level.

You should get 42V20 for around 60K now.

C series stands for 2010 models in Samsung.

50C6500 has EXCELLENT USB media playback functionality, backlit remote, Internet TV, Capacitive Touch Sensitive buttons, overall much better look than U20. However U20 should be coming with 3 years warranty.

Luckily Vaibhav was a reliable person. I am in touch with a Samsung Direct Sales Manager who supply to these dealership. He offered me 46C750 for 90k in December with the Diwali 3D offer.

I had purchased 46C7000 from "Yesbee Electronics", Jayanagar, Bangalore last Diwali and they are the ONLY FRAUD Outlet I have seen in Bangalore! I got the TV with broken 3D glasses (was checked in front of their transport folks). First reaction from YESBEE ELECTRONICS SALES MANAGER was "Chance he nahi hai!". Later they kept telling to give the replacement same day or next for the next 3 days while Samsung visited my place to check the backlight non uniformity issue. Samsung told they will issue a refund as they could not fix the problem. When I told the sales manager, he INSISTED to return the TV to him and he will send his transport team to take the TV back. Later they wanted me to pay 2% towards credit card swiping fee to process the refund. When I told them that I would rather take full refund from Samsung, they insisted that I take a charge back from my CC company and they would not dispute it. When I did do that, after about 5 months, they have raised a dispute with their bank (ICICI bank) and want me to pay around 19k for broken 3D glasses, loss of sale, transport, etc! I bought the TV from them as an Elderly person was very generous towards me and I saw him to be a genuine person, however now it looks like we can not trust anyone among these smaller dealership. I feel like suing them in the court of law and claim heavy compensation for such fraud they are trying to commit.

Prankey,

I tht I was the only 'I' to pickup some thing from yesbee. Glad to see there are other members too.. I bought PS50C550 from yesbee for 68k.. Few dead pixels and a straight line on the TV fulltime seated ... Few months of fight for a replacement with samsung turned out as refund. Overall happy I got my money back.

People, Stay away from Yesbee.

C6500 is a 2010 model, you simply cant compare the u20 to C6500 as the latter is in a different league altogether.

U20 is a full HD plasma but it does not have 1080 motion resolution which is not a big issue at all.

Both offers are still available , Do you want one ? :)

let me know where? cause AFAIK even Samsung warehouse does not have this in stock.

Really? is that why c6500 is better? i don't think so, C6500 has a different level of performance altogether if u put it next to the u20 even a layman will know the picture c6500 produces is much superior. C6500 only falls short in terms of black levels when compared to V20, also since i have both v20 D and C6500 i can very well say C6500 had much cleaner picture and better colors compared to the V20.

Yes, YESBEE ELECTRONICS has PROVEN ITSELF as a BIG FRAUD after I saw the letter they wrote to their bank. They have written ABSOLUTE LIES which even SAMSUNG is aware of. I am trying to strip it from Samsung dealership due to such INTENTIONAL FRAUD they are trying to commit.

I kept insisting them to return the TV as Samsung had the refund cheque ready and they kept telling to just go ahead with a charge back only to DISPUTE the transaction for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON! They fabricated reasons altogether through some EXTREMELY VAGUE STORY where they have not written even a SINGLE WORD OF TRUTH!

I would advice people from stay MILES AWAY FROM YESBEE. I feel like GUARDING their store so no one falls pray to them, seriously!

Dude, please don't hit me on that. I have NOT done side by side comparison and was talking of the difference I saw. Thanks for the info that C6500 is better as the time I saw it, I saw trailing of vertical pixels which put me off (I really wanted to buy from Vaibhav at his offer after 2 bitter 3D TV experience).

The resolution is still 1920 x 1080...the rate at which it's refreshed is 900 lines in u20 and in v20 it's 1080...there is no lower number of pixels...
