It seems to be a concern for many. Specially the poor. Water issues supply and access always are political, specially when there are shortages.

This tree was very unique with a really broad trunk. I remember seeing this on SV road in Santacruz near Podar school.
What a loss ! It must have witnessed 300 years of changes in that part of Mumbai and was just cut overnight.
It was a rare tree and not native to Mumbai and may have been grown by the Portuguese.

Scarily real...but unless people raise it it will not be there and it is the Next Gen who would perhaps raise it and as thy become more and more relevant it will become more important.

While it may not be enough there are certain industry-Govt bodies already working on this especially in areas like Cement, steel and related industries but not sure on their pace...

One thing i have learnt over the years in decision making roles is no matter what you do on anything, there is always a counter view on why it will not work and on a better way to do the same

Most-times the best decision is to take a decision rather then analysys-paralysis

Agreed. Undue delay in decision making is as bad as no decision at all.

But the issues raised deserve a responsible clarification. After all it’s for an important cause and involves sizeable budgets using public funds to compensate corporates.

Consultation with experts and public and transparency should have been done. Why the hurry and secrecy?

Analysis paralysis and such labels seem to be used to cover up how important decisions are made, specially when it involves public money and big corporates.

The aim for efficient and transparent processes to reach decisions based on good science and evidence.

Otherwise we should blindly trust corporates and their allies who are “decisive” when it comes to prioritising public good
