After a long wait, it has happened

The complete system:




The turntable arrived just 2 days ago from Germany. From the day I placed the order it took 16 weeks for the TT to finally arrive. I did not know how to set it up so had to hire someone to do it. The current set up is as follows:

Turntable: Nouvelle Platine Verdier - Auditorium23 revision
Tonearm: SME 3012 S2 with Analogue tube audio modification
Cartridge: Denon DL103-PRO
Step-up Transformer: Auditorium 23 DL103 version
Phonostage: Leben RS30EQ
Cables: All Mogami Neglex 2549

Amplifier: Naim Nait 5i
Speaker: Tannoy Turnberry SE + Tannoy ST-200 supertweeter
CD Player: Naim CD5X

At this point the TT setup is not fine tuned because the cartridge needs about 50 hours to burn in and only after that the final tuning of the setup will make more sense (especially since I am paying for set up job).

First impressions to follow...

Wow, a super long search ends in a super setup. Congrats. You got some real fancy gear there! The Auditorium 23 step-up and the DL103 PRO are supposed to be a match made in heaven. Is the Leben a tube?

And I seriously envy your new speakers. That, or the Canterbury or Stirling is something I have lusted after.

I am sure you are already in audio nirvana

I am more overwhelmed by your comments than the music thats playing at home.

As the title of the thread states, I can only see that a journey has "begun". Even though I bought the turntable that I liked most during my auditions I do see quite a bit of work before I can really feel "done for now". At this point I dont even know how to mount a cartridge on to a tonearm:indifferent14:. I have a long way to go. I will try to be slow so that I keep on enjoying music as I take the TT setup notch by notch higher. I have tried to play safe by choosing gears which are "recommended". The TT manufacturer recommends a SME3012 and DL103 as a good point to start. DL103 users recommend Au23 step-up transformer. Leben was my own choice though. I wanted a tube component in the system and when I heard the Leben I knew I cannot buy anything better close to this kind of money.

I will briefly write about the current state of performance today evening.
