Acer H5370BD - Impressions

Bought the projector at 399$
will be delivered by nov 1st week

I have a urgent situation to solve. Can anyone please help me out.

So..
My sources are gonna be Tata sky HD, Xbox 360 Arcade, Chromecast , and Cubetek Media Player(which plays blue ray movies from HDD)

Each Source will have its HDMI output... So i m buying a 4x1 hdmi switch whose output i will connect to H5380BD using 30 ft HDMI cable

This deals with the video and picture...

Now my question is... how do i setup Audio?

How are u guys connecting audio to your speaker systems?

The white and red ( L/R) cables that comes dont give 5.1 channel output..

Users of Xbox/ HD DTH/ and Movie Viewers please help me on this...

Congrats ,
Now you need a HT system like HTiBs or dedicated 5.1 system which has HDMI inputs(in AVR)and decodes sound to get true surround.
HDMI carries both audio and video,AV receiver decodes audio and video will be send to Projectors.

Secondly, it wont have 4 HDMI inputs right!

Are u trying to understand what i m saying?

Also, When u say connect it to HT system, if i connect those RCA cables from either Xbox/STB i wont have 5.1 sound

and i cant see any system having 4 HDMI inputs to decode and pass it on to 5.1 surround sound..

I hope i have cleared my doubt..

alot of ppl when they buy HT system feels that when they connect those Red and White RCA cables they will get 5.1 channel sound..

But i think its not the case... cause they are just for 2.1 purpose

Please help me or make me understand if i m wrong...

Ok the above system has 3 HDMI inputs(you need 4).

It can handle the audio decoding part and output video to PJ.
Now if your settop box has optical or coaxial out,you can get 5.1 option.Here you will not need 4th HDMI connection.
3 HDMI connections can b used with rest of sources.In all way you can get 5.1 sound.

If you consider above system,you will find 3 HDMI,2 coaxial and 2 optical inputs.All can accept 5.1 audio.

Some of Philips HTib's will come with single digital input.Also you need a HDMI splitter. Every time you have to change digital input,So its better that you get at least HTiB.

Try an HDMI splitter with an HTIB.. something like Onkyo. I have a projector + Onkyo S3330 which only have 3 HDMI inputs. Got a BR player, xbox 360, Videocon D2H and Asus o play mini competing for HDMI slots, and I dedicate one port to swap between Asus and xbox.
You need an HTIB... If budget is a constrain, look for a low profile HTIB with a single HDMI port and use an HDMI splitter.

This PJ (h5380bd -2013 model) is still being sold @ USD 399 by newegg, though they are NOT shipping to india now (someone got it shipped by newegg itself earlier). You may take services of third party though (like ishopinternational, borderlink etc)...

They have started shipping to India and they also accept Indian CC/Debit card. And once shipped the item will reach you within a week.
 
USD 552 when most of us got it for around 400 is a bit on the higher side, on the positive note, when usually you see a price drop after an year, this product going stronger is an indicator how good this projector is.

Keep checking amazon and newegg for the best price.

You need to change the country to India in the top right side. It will be selected as USA by default. And change currency to INR too

Guys advise should one go for this PJ at this price. Have been reading many positive reviews about this PJ and getting tempted to buy!!

I would say that at $399 it is the best VFM projector from the Newegg.com site. Actually the price is fluctuating from $399 to $499 or so. So keep an eye on the Newegg site and best thing is you can register there and put in your cart. As and when the price comes down you get an intimation. Coming festival season in US it should definitely either touch $399 or may go down as well :)
