Acer H5370BD - Impressions

Congrats Kaptan, enjoy :clapping:

The actual pictures are way better than captured by any of the screenshots in this forum, it has a real movie theater like quality in person when played a Bluray or high quality rip.

Guys,
How would you compare PQ with Full HD PJ's ?
How is 3D experience ?

Yes I need to get a good camera. :)

I cannot compare it with full hd, as obviously full hd will be superior. When come to price this projector is a serious contender. Full hd projectors are double and triple times higher price.

I have not yet tested 3d as I dont have 3d player and glasses with me now. It can convert 2d images to 3d. Iam unable to comment on them.

^^ You can use your media player or bdp to play SBS or OU files. In the projector select 3D as SBS or OU.

For gud quality sbs movies. U can visit yify torrents.until u get original 3d blurays.
But u need glasses atleast 1 to test them. Do u hv glasses?

We don't discuss about torrent and pirated contents over here in the forum. Please refrain from posting such thing in future. Hope you understand.

BTW, it is also against the forum rule.

I was waiting for someone to object. Congrats koushik.
I was not promoting piracy here. For kaptan to test, i was referring to a good sites. Referring one is not committing piracy. Not that someone does not do in daily life or atleast doent talk here.. still

If you are getting a side by side image in your pj's output then your 3D format is not selected correctly.

Follow these steps:

1. Switch the 3D mode on.
2. In the same menu select 3D mode or format, do not recollect the option. It should be auto by default. Change it to Half Side by Side. Press the > button on remote to select this format. Selection is not by Ok ir center button, i too faced this confusion.3. You should now get an overlapped image as an output from the projector.
4. Power on your glasses and wear them. If any distortion try changing the left right sync using a button on the glasses. Atleast the ones I have support this button so hope 3D corp should too.

I registered just to post a big thank you for this information. I too would press the OK button and could never get this to work. I always thought that SBS wasn't capable through my Blu-Ray player via USB. I tried your suggestion and it works beautifully. I stumbled upon this thread after a google search of "acer h5370bd settings". Anyone want to share their calibrated settings? Thank you once again jsanand.

Hi guys,

Do any of you figure out the best possible settings for the projector. Kindly share the details.

Thanks

Kaptan, apart from the PJ, from your blu-ray player upscale and output at 1080 and 24 frames movie. My Panny has it and made a lot of difference.

Quick comparison of Sainsonic glasses.
Battery powered produce beautiful image will good color.Sharpness
is perfect. No synchro issue at all.Picture not dull n looks
better than cinema hall
Rechargable has better depth n 3d effect. But image looks little dull. Not as
sharp n beautiful as battery powered glasses.

While playing hsbs 3d files through projector, we need to chnage the 3d mode to half side by side.

Then it shows 3d has been now enabled and and it say some bla bla bla.

My question is , Now the picture need to be look like frame packed (or) it will be still look like side by side and with low brightness.

As in my case I am getting the 2nd one. Is that correct? or I need to use a 3d player to play those HSBS files to play through the projector?

With glasses on,brightness certainly reduces. With Battery powered glasses, picture look better and clear due to 1200:1 contrast ratio.

When you activate SBS in PJ, the image should extend to fill the screen as if in 2D, but with a slight blurring. If you see the image as two split screens even after selecting SBS in PJ, then something is wrong.
