i will check mail. getting screen can be a hassle specifically when you can get screens for pretty decent price here..

No, actually I ordered it from bhphotovideo.com as newegg has additional 50$ tax for shipment to CA state. Further, it will be cruel to ask him to bring the screen as well, as already he agreed to carry the projector and a pair of 3D glasses. I would have if I were carrying it, but not through a friend.
I was searching for some projector material, and was able to find blackout cloth in my city, for a price of 190Rs/m. Width is only 4feet, but I will purchase once I get my projector. I guess I will be able to use the blackout cloth along with a wooden frame as a screen.

Guys,

My projector has arrived today morning and I cant wait to reach back home and get going with this beauty.

800 VA UPS along with a 90-100 inch 16:9 screen is pending now. I would be buying a manual pull down with insta-lock type of screen since my projection wall already has a wall mounted TV and speaker. Plus the wall is of purple shade which I believe wont be effective.

Any suggestions on screen? I will also be sharing my initial impressions along with pics shortly.

Thanks everyone for their views/reviews/suggestions/discussions to help me take this decision. HFV rocks! :clapping:

Cheers,
Vishu

Congratulations Vishu_fbd and welcome to the group !!! Do let us know your experience and post pics of your set up as well :)

Congrats Vishnu

Mine is due to arrive by 2 April. I now understand how difficult it is to wait. One pair of cheap 3d glasses already arrived from Ebay India. Every morning and night I check the shipping status of projector.

I can understand the wait is killing!

I ordered my projector last week on Amazon and it was bought over by my friend yesterday who was coming back from US. So not much of a wait for me but today these remaining 6-7 hours are really not passing quick enough! :(

Which glasses did you buy from ebay and for how much? I bought 4 Sainsonic ones for myself from Amazon @ USD 22 each.

I wanted to buy 2 pairs of 3d Corp battery operated (not rechargeable ones) but Amazon did not ship those so could not get it. Meanwhile just to check the 3d performance took a chance and bought these: Active Shutter 3D Glasses FOR 3D DLP Projectors | eBay

Looks like Chinese but finishing is fine, would be able to check once projector arrives.

You got very good deal with your glasses.

Enjoy your set up and post your impressions.

I (actually my friend on my behalf) also ordered a pair of same 3D glasses from amazon. Please do let me know the performance once you get it.

Hi All,

I too ordered ACER H5370BD from Amazon yesterday @ $406 and a ceiling mount for $42. Now a month long wait till the friend gets this back to India :)

Are there any suggested mounts for 5370 that can be purchased from ebay or similar stores?

Somewhere I read that H5370BD is not compatible with VESA standards, and there maybe issues with standard mounts. What do current owners discover?
Also, can any ceiling mount be converted to a wall mount? I cannot mount it on the ceiling as mine is a sloping roof. Will be tough to drill in RCC

ebay has all sorts of mounts.. ranging from as low as 700 bucks..
yes its not compatible with universal projectors due to triangle mounting system however the same 4 pot mount can be easily modded to 3 mount to be used with same screw positions. you would need to hunt for matching screws 10mm precisely. i posted specific screw details back in the thread.

the mount i got costs mere 1200 bucks which can be extended max to 5 feet and as my PJ hangs 3 feet below the ceiling. pretty sturdy and well built.

give it some time and dont order everything at once. you will end up saving a lot of money.

this thread eventually has become bible of acer 5370... this is the power of forums :):)

Thanks @ironhorse. Yes I definitely agree to your view and I am now taking my own sweet time to source things. spending enough time to search for needed accessories to enhance my so called mancave is saving me lot of unwanted expenses.
For eg. I would have ordered the blackout cloth online for 4k, but was able to spare some time hunting for it locally and found a shop selling it in my city for around Rs190/m.
I wanted a big carpet to cover my HTR floor, and the best deal I was getting online was around 6k. But I checked couple of local stores and surprisingly one was running a clearance sale, and I got a raimond carpet for around 2.8k.
Also, I would have ordered an LED PJ, if this forum was not there to convince me about the pros of a bulb PJ. Even I would have ordered it for 490$ from amazon, but forum reminded me of offers which comes once a while, and now got one and ordered for around 423$.
The mantra now is - take your own time :) Never take a quick decision.

And I am still re-reading this H5370BD bible :)

The reason i bought the mount from amazon itself was that none of the ebay.in items was specific that it will fit to the Acer H5370BD PJ.

Amazon.com: PCMD Projector Ceiling Mount for Acer H6510BD: Electronics
The above one is compatible with H6510BD as well as H5370BD...confirmed by the seller- PCMD.

It is very compact and has 360 degree swivel capability. I wanted to mount the PJ as close to the roof as possible, as i already had a cabinet made attached to the roof with limited space.

Shall post the pics once the setup is complete.
