i already posted this on the music thread. but thought the movies guys might be interested too :

over the last 6 months or so i have been frequently ordering dvds and cds from amazon uk. normally shipping comes up to 25% of the total cost. but today got a mail from them that shipping is free to india (for books,cds, dvds) till may mid. so whoever is interested ...

Thanks Nandac for sharing the information. Ordered 8 titles of CD/DVDs today. Absolutely no shipping cost to India for purchase above 25 GBP.

guys, pls note that you got to pay customs which is around 25% of the cost of your order. normally the postal person collects it when they deliver it.

watch out for the pricing on amazon.co.uk....stuff is generally highly priced when compared to amazon.com (USA)....it may be less expensive to buy stuff from amazon.com with paid shipping included

I would beg to differ. I have found DVD's cheaper on Amazon UK than US. Also, they have a lot of bargains all the time. Yes, the exchange rate is higher but it will more than make up for the low prices.

I had earlier purchased Audio CDs from both Amazon UK and Amazon USA and no customs duty was charged.
This time I am going to order Planet Earth and Life Blu Ray disks from Amazon UK. Shall I have to pay customs duty on BR discs?
Whether the current promo offer of nil shipping cost to India would cover Blu ray discs also?

I find the shipping cost to be more from USA rather then from UK. some titles are cheaper in USA and some are cheaper in UK. You have to select accordingly. imported CD's in amazon.co.uk is costly.
