Amazon UK vs Amazon US/Amazon Global

That depends on what item you want to buy. For blu-rays amazon.uk is recommended and for electronics items amazon.de.

Usually US works out cheaper, as they have much better deals than their UK or German counterparts. But any electronics stuff you buy, you have to remember that it will be a 110V system. German site is better than the UK site in terms of pricing and shipping. Again it depends on the item you wish to buy, as the previous comment.

Hi,
Most European countries charge VAT in the range of 18-20%. If these goods are shipped outside of their border, then the VAT is reduced. Thus if you compare (US Price + shipping from US) vis-a-vis (Europe Price - VAT + shipping from Europe), the difference is not much. The price advantage that US has is offset by the high courier charges, especially for heavy electronic items.

I have bought goods from Amazon US, UK and Germany, though the goods have been mostly books, CD's, camera lens etc. My experience with all of them have been very good. The german website is a little more difficult to use because of the language; however, with google translate, this should not be a big problem. Never needed to return anything to Amazon Germany, so not sure how easy that would be given the different language used.
