Hello friends, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions, tips for proper storage of AV components for long periods (multiple years). I have a home theater system with four floor standing speakers, a center channel speaker (all Def Tech), a SVS subwoofer PB 2000, Marantz SR6009 receiver, 75" Sony TV, and Optima HD projector. I also have a second system with Marantz NR 1200 receiver, a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 607 S2 and an SVS 3000 Micro sub.

I plan on being abroad for a couple of years, and am wondering if anyone here had experience storing such components and ensuring that it is protected. Many thanks in advance.

Life becomes easy if the Original boxes are still around.
else
1. corrugated sheets - or in plastic sheets.
2. EPE foam sheets
3. Dehumidier - or similar silica gel packets to be place in each box - if required.
or small silica get pack in each Carton spread around.
5. Rat repellent or similar pest repellents as needed.

- All can be place in the center of room - away from the Sun facing wall / better still to keep in room that is not sun does not touch.
- Can be place on an elevation - few can be kept on the Dinning tables / organized Chairs/small table etc.
- if any friends / relatives around whom you trust can visit few time to check, run the fans for some time if possible.
...
and there are alternatives - just googled for Storage facilities.

etc.

A knowledgeable dealer once told me that integrated and power amps should be used atleast for a few hours every few months to prevent capacitors from deteriorating…
