So if you check the calculations on this post: http://www.hifivision.com/television/10582-lg-50pk550-r-8.html#post161580 the electricity consumption isnt all that much. Besides, even a 47" LCD-LED like the LE8500 would cost be not less than Rs. 150K (source: LG 47 LE8500 INFINIA LCD TV > Reviews > HiFi & TV > TVs > Tech2.com India) whereas I got the PK550 for around 60K. I can consume a heck of a lot of electricity for the Rs. 90K I am saving hyeah: besides getting 3" extra. I do know about the pros and cons of plasma and I am fine with the care that needs to be taken. Hence went in for the 50PK550.
