hi friends,

when i started searching for reviews for a flat panel tv i came across hifivision and found to be very informative with reviews and suggestions..:)

this prompted me to write my first thread.

i am lookng for a 42" plasma, got the following offers in bangalore.

Panasonic 42x20 - Rs 40,000
Panasonic 42x20 - Rs 42,990 + koryo dvd player + hdmi cable
LG 42 PQ 70 - Rs 37,990
Panasonic 42C10 - Rs 37,000

Am confused which one to pick up.And also suggest are these rates the best??

Also pls suggest in this budget is there any good model.

Thanks guys in advance....

I hope you know that the PQ70 and C10 are 2009 models. I have a 42PQ70 myself, purchased in July 2009. The X20, A20, U20, V20 etc are the 2010 models from Panasonic. From LG, they would be PJ350, PJ650, PJ560 and PK550 (only 50/60 inch size for PK).

Hi guys,
I am planning to finalise this week end for my plasma.Got offer of Rs 42,990 for Panasonic 42X20 with Philips DVD Player and HDMI from Pai,Bangalore.

Pls let me know is this d best rate for X20.

Also what is the difference between X10 and X20.

Thanx in advance... :clapping:

Last month i bought C10D for 36K, and i m happy with my purchase up to now, on its pannel its mentioned that its running life is for 1,00,000 hours:).

i m not sure what is the life of other pannels so please make sure to verify that.

That's a good price for the Panny 42X20 with a Philips DVD player and HDMI cable. But anyway see if the dealer would reduce further.

Most plasma makers nowadays claim the panel life to be 100,000 hours. So it's really nothing new.

Do not consider only USB port while buying a budget tv. Panasonic is best known for its reliability and durability and they are the leader in the plasma market all over the world. I think X20 would be a good purchase.

What is Panasonic V20 price in bangalore.

is it worth to spend xtra monies on v20.

I was almost zeroing on X20 for 42990.

Hi dijeesh,

Even I have zeroed in on the panasonic X20...yet to buy though...my observation is that it may be better to go with just the TV for 40K (quoted by Modern World, Domlur) and pick up your DVD player/ home theater separately...this is cos the bundled player which dealers provide are often older models or not the best available (read latest) models..

Any idea if their 3yr warranty scheme is still on...I heard some rumor it may be expiring end of the month...dont know if they are just doing this to make us buy fast :ohyeah:

all the best!!

hi,
gud to kno dat u r also finalising on d same model.

I think the 3yr warranty will stay..

for similar featured model X10 i got quote of 38K.

specs looked same to me for x20 and x10.any idea??

when r u planning to pik?do you think they will reduce d price further if we bargain together??

thanx..

There is not much difference between these two models. Though specification wise x20 is a step down model than x10 but according to reviewers X20 has better picture performance than 09, X10 model.

40,000 is a good price for X20. You definitely can go for it.:)

@ Yogesh

i checked in Bangalore with the Panasonic Brand shop, Koramangala as well as Modern World, Domlur - both are confirming that the 3 year warranty offer on Plasmas is not expiring on 31st July'10. Though the brand shop said that they may discontinue this offer on the LCD models but not on the Plasma TVs.

anybody else checked in Bangalore??

Do let me know as it would be a shame to miss out on the warranty just for 1 days delay in buying...I am hoping to clinch the deal on Sunday..

@ Dijesh...X10 has the the G12 panel whereas the X20 has the "more advanced" G13 panel....though i must say that i did read some reviews where X10 was felt to be better than X20....but I am going for X20 as I am keeping my fingers crossed that Panasonic may have done something to solve the famous black level issue...besides I am not such a fanatic when it comes to differentiating nuances in Picture Quality so I guess I can live with it and I am looking at the 3 yr warranty as a major Plus point against LG or Samsung...

If you wanna join me in bargaining feel free to give me a buzz at 96322 44888 and we could go shopping on Sunday...I hope to clinch the deal at either eZone, Modern World or Panasonic Brand shop. cheers

hi,

bought the x20 from modern world at 40K with financing done through Bajaj - zero processing, zero interest.

2+1 yr warranty continues on Plasma untill further notice, on LCDs its been stopped.

cheers

hi,

congrats on your purchase of x20 :clapping:

I have to postpone my purchase as i am shifting to a new house in a month.

do post your thots n pics after viewing.

njoy... :)

don't know about the difference in picture quality between the x10 & x20, but the power consumption on the x10 is 285W whereas on the X20 is 230W. this looks like a significant difference.

guys i just went online to panasonic website... for the x20 models...

its says the Resolution for both 42" & 50" is only 1,024 x 768. Would that make it not even HD-Ready ? Not even 720p....?

Where as last years X10 50" & even this years C10 has 1,366 x 768.

How much worse is 1,024 x 768 as compared to 1,366 x 768 ?

Wouldn't that make a big difference in upscaling DVD movies to 720p and also playing a bluray or a 1080p bluray ?

Thanks
