Bravia HX850 successor -W900A with Quantum Dot !

Today went to Sony Shop and saw both W950 and W900a.
W950 is 46 inch and costs 130K. W900a is 40 inch and costs 90K. Colors and blacks are better compared to W8. I think the VA panel (and triluminous tech) is making the difference.

Also went to Samsung shop to check UA46F7500BRLXL. Really nice TV with great picture and lots of feature. Their smart hub is much better than Sony. Need to check Samsung and Sony side by side for PQ as their cost is almost same (130K for 46 inch).

Last that i checked, the W700A had better PQ compared to the W800A.
Did you get a chance to compare the PQ of W900A and W950A with the W700A? If yes, was there are big difference in the 2D PQ?

Saw the 46" 950. There is a visible difference. Pictures look more realistic due to the blacks. Spending 2.2L on a 55" sounds crazy to me! I am saving up for F8500 :-)

Saw the F8000 at Croma, Phoenix Mall. Oh man, that is one gorgeous display. Yep, it matches W950 on all counts and I guess will be cheaper in stores. People were flocking to the display and, hold on, trying to hand gesture and "speak" to it :-)

What is the price for F8500?

This visible difference was in comparison to which model?

So

W950 > W800 > W700 ?

Or W950 > W700 > W800 ?

Choosing between W700 and W800 is really a matter of personal liking. W700 can be adjusted to get a very good PQ. Viewing angle is a worry. W800 will impress in a moderately to well lit room. I did choose the W700 for better shadow details. I hate to view blurays where all the amazing information is lost or crushed. IPS does it but less evident on W800 due to color uniformity.

Are the viewing angles on the W950A better than the W900A?

Not sure. Haven't seen W900. If you have owned LCD in past then you'll know what to expect. It's not the worst out there. But those deep blacks are meant to be enjoyed sittin bang in front of W950. For a change blacks were blacks on LCD and I include both W950 and F8000.

actually I was referring to sammy f8500, panny's operation in india is a joke.

Okay. We are on same page then. Around 20th June for F8500 plasma.

My post was being sarcastic about Panasonic. Prats!!!

I've asked the guy from whom I do regular purchases to give me some "extraordinary" discount when the stocks arrive. I understand that prices may crash further next year but I'll try extracting something tempting. Hope to.

F8500 is plasma so it will have some retention issue. Also, Samsung has one year warranty where as Sony has 1 + 2 years (by paying some extra amount, 5000/- for 47 inch). Input lag on Sony is < 15 ms which is very good for playing games
