Hi,

I am planning to buy a LED TV from Infibeam. I found that they also allow other sellers like ModernElectronics , price of which is few thousands lower with they not having 30 day replacement warranty.

I guess from various posts in this forum that Infibeam is trusted site and has good reviews, but has anybody bought from modernelectronics via Infibeam ?
Any feedback ?

Thanks....

Infibeam is a trusted site. But you will get much cheaper price in flipkart. Too bad that they ship TVs to selected locations only. They have no service in Kerala for TVs.

Its out of stock on Flipkart.
But any idea if buying from modernelectronics via Infibeam is as safe as buying from infibeam on which it is around 2.5k costlier ?

I tried infibeam twice and both time had issues:
- first they send the wrong product and refuse to accept their mistake
Lesson learned: Don't pay upfront ; only COD
- Second time opted for COD and package never arrived.

So I would suggest you to play safe while ordering from infibeam or its sellers.

i had bought my Edifier da5000 pro from them. They had the cheapest price available when compared to Ebay, flipkart and the local dealer.

First i had purchased the edifier da5000 from them, then after 2 days, they mailed me this product not available and asked me whether i want my money back or another product (da5000 pro) with a small amount more. I paid it and they shipped it.
But i must say, the shipping took almost 10 days to reach my place. But overall am very satisfied with their service.

BTw also bought a kitcher mixer through their magic box products. :)

Ordered Toshiba 46TL20 directly from Infibeam, and not from modernelectronics.
Lets see how the overall service from Infibeam is.

Even when the 46tl20 was in stock when I placed the order, 8 days later they told me its out of stock. Luckily the CC doesn't show the charge yet as they said that will happen only when product ships.
Every time they tell we will call back, they never do so. The call center guys have no direct phone access to their internal folks. They keep sending emails internally and say didn't get any reply. So the call center guys seem fine, their internal team seems to have serious issues. They have a 46pb20 in stock now which was what I earlier planned to buy. I asked them to confirm if its really really available to avoid the same issue, but they never get back.
I just wished flipkart had the 46pb20/46tl20.....
Though I never bought TV from them, based on other products buying experience I think it would be much better

Even I found the modern electronics in infibeam to be offering the best deal in Samsung / lg led Tv's. Just wanted to know if anybody purchased through them.
Even they are offering 1 yr warranty and looks good value for money.
I will try to bargain in showroom showing infibeam prices and see if I get better discounts. There is no cod's for Tv's.

I think it is always safe to opt for CoD when buying online for LEDs, this way even if product goes out of stock after you place order, you dont worry about CC charge etc.

As far as third party seller is concerned on Infibeam i.e modern electronics, you wont find CoD as an option which according to me is risky proposition.

then there is also risk of a demo peice being shipped!!

IMHO it is better to buy such expensive things from a dealer.

I am writing in response to the title "Buying from Infibeam 3rd party seller" not about LEDs.

My friend (a non-active member of HFV) who is settled in Singapore now was here for 10-12 days.

He wanted to buy a WD 2TB HDD and I suggested him Infibeam. As expected, he got the HDD in 2 days but it was a re-certified HDD with approx one year warranty left. He spend quite sometime with CC for in replacement but in next 8 days, the old one picked up and but a new was not delivered. He left for Singapore in 1st week of January.

When I asked him last, he said that Infibeam have agreed to refund his money. I am not aware if he got his money back or not.

This week onwards I started getting tel calls from infibeam [ wonder if my posting here caused that :) ] and finally I got the order converted to Toshiba 46PB20.
Thought quite hard about the 50UT50 at 72K (though not in same price range but closer to my earlier choice of 46TL20) finally decided to go with 46PB20 as it mostly going to be used to be htpc and will be used sometimes as a monitor too. Later can think of a projector for movies only....

Hope I receive the product in good condition. BTW how does one chk usage hours in Toshiba LCD ?

I ordered from infi 50ut50 at that time, omg shipping took 17 days as they have some verification process for higher purchases. The only difference i think is sellers dont do any offers for this tv , no 3d glasses which infi was giving at that time worth 5k i got it at 70k around a month back, local dealers were quoting at 78k i said **** it and gone for it :)

How do find watching UT50 in normal lighting at home (wrt black levels) ? How is it while watching with lights off (at night) ?

Have you purchased from ModernElectronics on Infibeam?
Their UT50 price of around 69K with free HT is unbeatable and too good to be true. I hope they are selling a brand new piece and not a refurbished item.

Does anyone have contact of ModernElectronics?
What happens in case the piece turns out to be defective or the packing is not sealed?

You keep running after them, calling daily, proving that damage was done in transport and not by you and in return get false promises, deadlines, usually this is the case if something goes wrong.

So better get from a local dealer whose neck can be grabbed in case of any problem.

Stock clearance. The Panasonic guys have smartened up. This looks like similar to the Oct 11 deal on the 50VT20. Buy 4 get 1 free deal to dealers. Looks like we can look forward to new models coming in faster from this year.
