Buying from Infibeam 3rd party seller

^Good to hear about this.

Some questions:
1. Did you get any warranty card? The Infibeam site says: 3 year warranty. Sounds great.
2. Did the serial number on the box match the one on the TV?
3. Did other things like manual, cables, etc come with the box or was something missing?
4. Since you did not get hard copy bill, are you certain that the soft copy bill is a VAT paid bill?

Edit: Buy Toshiba 46PB20 LCD TV, 46 Inch LCD Price, Best LCD India - Infibeam.com
Assuming it is this one, did you go with ModernElectronics or Infibeam directly? ModernElectronics is cheaper.
Any experience in checking if the manufacturer will honor warranty on this piece? e.g. trying to register the product on their site?

1) Yes got the 3 year warranty card. Don't remember if the installation guy took it out of the TV box or he had got it along with him.
2) Good point. Now since the TV is mounted on wall, not able to see the serial no. on it. Will try to find out.
3) Everything as given in manual is there. On the contrary, manual says no power cord for 46PB20, but I got it .
4) Actually they emailed me a duplicate invoice, which says price inclusive of VAT

Not sure about buying from modernelectronics. Though about it but for peace of mind (relatively) decided to pay a bit more and buy from Infibeam given its 30 days replacement guarantee etc.

The installation guy told me the service menu for this TV can only be accessed using a special remote which service engineers have! So if going ahead all the TV manufacturers do it, we will have no way to access service menu.

@hifisound Congrats on purchase. I was also thinking about toshiba 3d led TL20 from infibeam. However wasn't sure online so got 46 incher locally. I paid 63k for the last piece remaining across dozens of showrooms (its outdated model now that's why discounted price)and almost 2 week's hassle. Mainly I didn't want smart features.

Company warranty card inside box says 1 year comprehensive. Did you get 3 years written somewhere from toshiba?

I got 1 3d glasses :yahoo: which online manual says optional but paper manual talks about it.

Probably Yes. I had opened thread to check usage hours but could not get answers or find anywhere. I still want to see how much usage is there.

@viper08

I did get the warranty card saying 3 yrs and below its written 1 yr comprehensive and 2 yrs extended. the installation guy told me 1 yr for panel and 3 yrs for electronics, but the card doesn't say anything specific
I too had first booked order for TL20 , but couldn't get it hence switched the order to pb20.

My paper manual itself excludes power cord for 46pb20 :) good to have got it.

Btw, how did you find the packing ? I didn't get a feel of company sealed box.

Well, unfortunately I wasn't there when installation happened to see how box was sealed. I came 2 days later. But I could see it was packed with big plastic wrapper bag inside 2 blocks of thermocol. Stand, remote and screws, papers were in respective carry bags and typical protective transparent cello tapes on edges of Tvs and on center logo. 3d glasses were sealed firmly in box inside another.
Honestly I could not figure anything which can not be re-packed. The only good part was very clean back (specially grill) and scratch less connectors.

I re-checked again on net and my model has only 1 year comp warranty everywhere.

So have registered your tv with company? How? card says part B needs to be stamped and pass on to dealer or service center. I am thinking 2nd option.

In my case too the TV is scratch less, but no way to find its been used or not.
The service center guy took one part of the warranty card.

Actually when I had first booked TL20 I had checked with Infibeam and they had confirmed that , it too has 3yrs warranty. Can you call up the Toshiba toll free number and confirm ?. Though I think that was started post Diwali/2012 year end.

I placed an order for the Panasonic P42UT50D Plasma TV (for Rs.57799) last week and got it installed yesterday. I must say that the service has been really good.

I placed the order on 26th March 2013 and got the TV delivered on 1st April 2013. The packing was just amazing (with wooden planks all around the TV).

I received the free multifunction printer too - along with the TV.

While I was skeptical about the 3 years warranty, there was a 3 year Panasonic warranty card inside the package. When the Panasonic technician installed the TV yesterday, he validated the warranty card.

And there were a couple of Panasonic 3D eyewear bundled with the TV and I was not expecting this. Looks like each 3D eyewear costs close to 5k in the market.

I made a gamble by placing the order with Infibeam, but it did work out really well.

Thanks!

Great to hear that.
May I ask what was the price you paid?
Did you select ModernElectronics (Rs.55487) or did you select InfiBeam (Rs.57,799) directly on that page?

Also, did you check usage hours on the plasma?

I paid Rs.57799 - didn't want to take a risk of going with ModernElectronics for just 2k savings.

Will check the usage tonite, but it looks brand new (even has the company tapes around the bezel).
